Divorce sucks! It does. There are days when you feel like your life is falling apart, when you wonder if anything you ever thought to be true was, and when you don’t want to get out of bed.
Now imagine being under ten and dealing with divorce. It REALLY sucks! Seriously, people who say children are better off in a broken home than a home where fighting occurs are crazy!
Not to mention that being around fighting and arguing is a good thing, but having everything you ever believed to be right about life, come shattering down, and losing one of the two people you thought loved you more than anyone in the world…can screw a kid up.
I’m sorry, maybe I should be more gentle with my words, but I’m angry. I’m mad that I have to watch my children suffer daily. It is horrible to see them crying or unsure of what they are feeling inside and losing interest in things they once enjoyed.
At this point, I feel like I can only pray for them and do everything I can to remind them that I will never leave and love them. That’s the thing about divorce, though; it breaks that unconditional trust a child once had with their parents because they never thought either of their parents would leave.
They thought their parents would do everything possible to protect them from harm, not bring them pain daily.

I am always amused when single moms say they’d do anything for their kids. My response is “Then why didn’t you?”

I’ve my daughters this. Marriage is about you, and when you get married, it’s about your kids.
Seemingly…but is there causation?
Here’s something else to ponder….
If this was an article about pushing trans on kids, it’d have scores of posts. Why? Because that current craze is hyper destructive to the children.
And yet, I’d argue divorce is more destructive to children and the family.
Now, we are all for kids and families and morality, right?
So…riddle me this, Batman: why are we the only ones posting?
I believe an Italian judge ordered the house to be left to the kids and the parents shared custody of the house too but the kids stayed permanently there...

Men pay the most for divorce.

When I said till death us do part, I meant it.
To really scare my husband, sometimes I warn him that even then, he isn’t getting off that easy. I’ll be waiting for him in Heaven. He can remarry after I am gone, but when he passes away, Wifey #2 has to step aside. He was mine first and I don’t share!
Well to be fair, most guys don’t think about that because over half of marriages end in divorce and 80% of those filing are women,...so....
I’m sure those guys wouldn’t mind if those wives stayed true to the vows and took themselves out.

Yes, they do, but they also pay when their parents have a crappy marriage. It’s a toss cup which is more harmful.

Rates are going down because people simply aren’t getting married. They’re just popping out kids and having baby-daddies and baby-mommas.
A crappy but intact family has an easier time of things than one where they are apart but still crappy to each other. That’s been my experience, but like you said, both are harmful.
Agree. And it is so awful that these poor children have their hearts broken, and they have no say in the matter.

Divorce causes transkids because the emotional damage and therapists egging it on get the kids there. I haven’t met a trans kid in a stable home yet.
My daughter would not be the really good person that she is today but for the personal choices i made twenty years ago. It’s not been easy, but when i see her successes, it is so worth it.
Ergo, a lot of men are no longer interested in marriage and a lot of women will buy pets and die alone.
I never understood the women who claimed there are no good men. There are plenty of great men. What they want is a wallet with a man attached; whereas I married the man and we built of lives together.
On the flip side, there are a few duds in the mix.
My friend Jeff was a great guy. He married a hen-pecker who aged him before his time. Finally he caught her cheating on him. He called me for advice.
I exploded.
“Get the most ferocious bulldog attorney you can find. Destroy her in court. Do not be the nice guy. She checked out of the marriage months ago so there is no saving this. Fight for every penny for your daughters. Fight for full custody. Forget her, she’s a whore!”
He followed my advice, kept most of his assets, took her to the cleaners, and eventually got the girls. She expected him to meekly comply; unbeknownst to her, I was his weekly friend/therapist helping him strategize with his attorney to wreck her.
Her lover dumped her after the divorce was final.
After the divorce, I begged him to not even consider dating for at least a year. “Get back to the gym, get back to music, find who you are as a man again.”
A few years later he was married to a younger, hotter woman who gave him a beautiful son.
Appreciate the story, nice it had a good outcome.
