Lots of ways to suppress a film

CNN, media tried their hardest to paint the film in a negative light.

The movie HAS been the target of supression, I guess you don’t observe media at all.

Why you so butt hurt about it ?

Why call people who point it out cultists, conspiracy theorists and dumb ?

Me thinks you do protest it too much.

Look, there’s still time to pull your head out, confess your sins and accept Christ as your personal savior.

All it takes is an honest prayer of confession to God and acceptance of his forgiveness and salvation.

But “they” could make it not get made. Think about it, it’s not tough. You’re talking about rich and powerful people. The kind of people that can easily cause Angel’s assets to be seized as part of some bogus investigation. And then the never give them back, boom Angel ceases to exist, no movie.

Not a strawman, legitimate question. If “they” wanted to suppress it, having failed to stop it from being made, but having bought the distribution rights, all they gotta do at that point is NOTHING. They own the distribution rights, they don’t distribute it. Movie gone. Of course they had a say in who bought it. That’s how selling things works. Fox owned the distribution rights, Disney bought Fox, so then they owned it. Then Disney SOLD the distribution rights. All they had to do was NOT sell.

But why even let it get into theaters? Really you’ve got really very rich people. They could easily pay the theaters to not show it. It’s made $41 million in the theaters, you don’t think Bill Gates could double that to bribe all the theaters in the world to not show it? $82 million is a rounding error of his fortune. Movie gone.

And of course there’s the real meat. The movie has made $41 million bucks. In what world does a suppressed movie make $41? It’s done better than Asteroid City.

The problem with all these conspiracy theories is you need these people who are so smart and powerful they could have theaters tweak the AC to suppress a movie, but so freaking dumb they’d tweak the AC to suppress a movie they could have easily just stopped getting made.

Yes there are lots of way to suppress a film. ALL of which would be more successful than screwing with the AC.

Thusly, they are NOT screwing with the AC.
And anybody who thinks they are should be very wary of bridge salesmen.
