3500 kcal a day and loving it. Good to know I’m around average, though my body fat is far less than that.

“North Korea should market itself as a weight-loss destination.”

Some years back a Russian had a website discussing his SIEGE OF LENINGRAD diet. It was not well received.

Stay clear of cottage cheese. Observe that only fat people eat it.

Even starving North Korea is ABOVE the recommended daily calorie intake of 2000 kCal?

That makes me question the veracity of the study.

Put it another way, we’ve eliminated starvation among so many countries. Everyone has a right and ability to eat well, even get fat if they want.

Every time I need a reminder to watch my diet, I just go to a few stores around town. It’s not just Walmart. And Walmart is frustrating as I see how much we’ve been invaded through our open southern border.

Yep. It's really sad to see people so obese they're struggling to walk.

It's so easy if you pick a diet that works for you. Keto works for me...but there are others that work quite well. A buddy of mine does well on a vegetarian diet.

Our bodies have evolved over thousands of years to survive periods of famine — sometimes yearly winter famine. We became designed to consume as much calorie-dense food as possible during times of plenty — usually towards the end of summer — when sweets (fruit) were abundant. People who could pack on the pounds survived the winter and passed on their fat genes to future generations.

The perennial abundance of food we now enjoy is an anomaly, and a recent one at that, as is the modern luxury of a sedentary lifestyle, and in the absence of nature’s cruel supervision, tremendous self-discipline is required to moderate our intake. The result is that spare time and indolence, once the province of the wealthy, have become universal.

It is obvious to any who care to see, that many of our physical and spiritual maladies are the result of our success as a species. Exhibit A: the dayglo-haired, corpulent BLM LGBTETC gals seen protesting for left-wing causes. Up until the Agricultural Revolution, those people would have been too busy fighting for survival to engage in such mindlessly destructive pursuits.
