When the child/children of a single mother leave/s the house, there's just one person left in the house.

Also, how many single, divorced, or widowed parents live in the old neighborhood that the children had to leave due to the high costs, decay, and lack of jobs? That scenario has been playing out all over the country for a few decades now. The parent is set in their ways and refuses to follow the children to a completely different region of the country.

As an aside, I read a lot of comments on other sites about their living conditions. One of the common themes is how they struggle to find affordable housing. What they don’t seem to realize is that our housing system is geared towards “couples” and families. It was always difficult for a single person to afford a house and all of the associated expenses.

A lot of these people are unwilling or unable to sustain long term relationships—and have to go it alone. They will probably be unlikely to live like their parents and grandparents. Ever.

Yep, i’ve noticed it repeatedly.. every time I come across an adult son ..for some reason they are usually 27-28 y/o..living with their single mom.
I’ve noticed too..mom’s will act like its a problem when someone says anything..but they never actually put their foot down. I think its like i said cause they want a real man but they can’t or won’t find one.
Once in awhile someone moves back with their folks and it really is temporary. They work like crazy and save money ..so, they can get out of that situation. I don’t have a problem with that.
If someone is motivated it would take maybe year of living thrifty so they could save enough for a down payment on a trailer outside of town on a acre of land.

The mistake most are making is that they believe the enemy’s plan is “Divide and Conquer” but the goal is actual ATOMIZATION of every single soul. Soro’s true vision of total egalitarianism. Every person on earth is at war with every other person. That is the battle you face. All good men have to do is nothing for evil to prevail.

“He should have been out of the house ten years ago…”. To where, exactly? 15 years ago I gave a series of annual. Talks to the PreMeds at my state’s major university ASSOCIATED with its Med School. At that time 90% of the people on campus were female. Almost no white males.

So just exactly what were your expectations of Jr.s prospects ten years ago? Is it a mystery why Jr would rather play video in the basement and eat trendies? I commented to another old geezer at the pharmacy a couple days ago, “Look at that kid, stocking shelves and he’s obviously going on thirty. How in the world is he gonna afford a family stocking shelves at Walgreens?”

No, our problems go MUCH deeper than “get a job.”

The happiest days of my life were spent living alone and working 14+ hours a day. Then nutty me decided to marry after retirement...BIG MISTAKE! Don’t take that comment wrong,.. I do love my lovely wife, but the institution of marriage is NOT FOR ME. Husband and wife should NEVER share a bathroom. When we build a new home it will have two master bathrooms...His and Hers.

It all comes down to weak parents. The adult child should have never been allowed to stay/come back, certainly not without paying rent + expenses.

I’ve lived alone my entire adult life, except after college graduation and living with roommates for a few years. I never married (never met the right man) so I don’t have children. My last day of work was in March so I’m adapting to not working and being at home everyday alone. I’ve always loved being by myself but it is now an adjustment since work was such a social atmosphere. I’m grateful everything in my life is paid off and I can live without income insecurity. It’s now just me and my two pups.

my daughter just lived with us for a year for free to buy a house.
But she had a job, kicked in $$ if i asked for it, watched my dogs so we could go away for the weekend.
She’ll be in her new house by August.
( my husband’s client.....son is over 30 with a well paying job but is mama’s buddy and won’t be moving anytime soon)

Same here. Either Mr. GG2 or I will eventually live alone.

*The burden thing has always bothered me. I want my children to get as much out of life as they can...Life is hard enough. I’ll just keep a watchful eye.* Informed consent after a stroke-watchful eye is as difficult as telling Kamala or Biden they’re out(24).

*Husband and wife should NEVER share a bathroom. *Century Village, Boca Raton, Fl.-retirement community. One bedroom, one and a half bathroom units. Guess why.

*My last day of work was in March so I’m adapting to not working and being at home everyday alone.* Enjoy a minimum of 2 boyfriends-the younger the better. You’ve earned it. Heh heh.

I always said there should be two apartments in one house...hers and his...and if there are children...3 apartments...each with their own bath and kitchen.

If the grandparents help with bringing up the kids, while both parents are working, that’s certainly not a “burden”.

That would in fact be an ideal arrangment.

Way better than sticking the kids in daycare.
