A horrifying video shows a subway rider getting repeatedly stabbed on a moving train in Toronto Thursday afternoon, sending other straphangers fleeing in terror.
The violent attack occurred around 12:20 p.m. aboard a southbound Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) train traveling toward Eglinton Station.
Cellphone video recorded by an eyewitness and shared widely on social media shows a man in a white t-shirt and blue shorts exchanging punches and kicks with another rider dressed in dark clothing in the middle of a train car.
A knife can be seen flashing in the other man’s hand during the fight.

Toronto police chief's "official statement." He's clearly very well practiced in the art of saying nothing.
They market the design as something that can carry more passengers but that also means there is no way to secure a metal door between you and a knife-wielding attacker.
I also question the wisdom of a design that where, in a crash, hundreds to thousands of people can be thrown forward and crush people in the front car instead of having separate walls to limit how many people can crush those in front of them.
It would also be an issue where one homeless person would stink up the entire train.

Yeah. It works in America. Not! Red states with free gun laws even have mass shootings. One thing is our country population is huge so we have a segment that will destroy everything.
When I knew Toronto in late 1970s and early 1980s, it was a big city with lots of amenities and cultural things, very clean, a little bit stuffy and socially conservative, part Canadian farm-town, part English/Scottish provincial outpost, and dry in a lot of places.
I certainly wouldn’t recognize it now.

Actually there are sliding doors between the cars. I have visited Toronto and rode in their subway.
That’s known. But typically states are compared so you have to go with what the state stats are. Sounds like red states need to get a handle on their blue areas. Part of leadership is fixing the problem areas.
