Why would they release this footage? It makes it clear the dog wasn't charging, and approached him in a friendly manner?
He knew the risks when he pinned on the badge...that one day a dog might walk up to him, wanting its ears scratched.
Can’t say what I think. Can’t say what I think should happen.
“The bad thing about it is they wouldn’t let us touch the dog until they took pictures and did their little thing they had to do and by that time she was already dead,”
Yeah I would have told the officer “go ahead and shoot me too then if that’s what you have to do” and gone and been with my dog anyway.
Cop school trains to shoot dogs, curse at four year olds, and to intimidate to maintain absolute control of a scene. By large the cops on any force are not the sharpest tools in the box. They have ego and emotional problems as well.
He should leave town.
I understand. They don’t show the actual shooting, they freeze it when the dog is a couple feet away.
My family obligations are long ago met. You shoot my dog, you will get shot in the face. It’s the least I could do for my best friend. We will both go.
As they say, "what has been seen can't be unseen."
This is something I refuse to watch for the sake of my mental health and well being. Just hearing about it is bad enough.

Everyone needs to watch this to understand the type of sadistic thugs we are forced pay to terrorize families.
Question is, train for who?
The full video was available on an earlier thread. Heartbreaking. And enraging.
> Why would they release this footage? <
It’s only because they have to. No other reason.
> Capt. Failing said the case will be thoroughly investigated by their department’s Office of Professional Standards… <
Now, that’s funny right there. After a few months we will hear this:
“We have investigated ourselves and found that we have done nothing wrong.”
Here is more body cam footage. *Warning*
This was a totally chickenshit shoot. The dog didn’t touch the officer and was showing signs of just being friendly.
FYI, my view is to show things as they actually happened. From 9/11 to J6 to war show the true images.
Any cop shooting my dog will be looking over their shoulder for the rest of their soon to end life.

Lorain PD is known for the professional standards of their officers...
3 Lorain police officers ousted, 1 indicted for 'gross misconduct'
Officials claim a sergeant sucker punched a fellow officer, while a lieutenant was involved in sexual relationships with both a subordinate and a convicted felon.
Unpopular opinion: leash your dog. Do not make anyone have to determine if your dog is nice or not.
Some years ago we went through a national fashion that had police automatically shooting any dogs encountered in their work even on the other sides of fences. It happened twice here but the local sheriff has oversight, I don’t know how formal, of the local city and town police. He had meetings with each force and explained to the men that hey had all been trained in how to deal with dogs and if any other non provably rabid dog should get shot by a police officer that officer would be immediately terminated. There have been no incidents of that nature since. That sheriff has retired but his predecessor and his replacement were and are Constitutional Sheriffs and our local police are all very professional.
