The Washington Post recently reported the following:
Proud Boys to pay church $1 million for destroyed ‘Black Lives Matter’ sign

The Proud Boys organization must pay more than $1 million to a historic Black church in D.C. after a judge determined members of the group damaged a Black Lives Matter sign displayed on the building’s front lawn in 2020.
The judge said that replacing the sign and protecting the church cost only $36,626.78.
So a judge has ordered vandals to pay restitution equal to approximately 27 times the amount of the damage that they caused.
As a person who believes in incentives, I think this is great, and I hope it sets a new precedent.
I hope that all future vandals will be held to this same standard.
How does your squirrely self feel about applying “responsibility” to the BLM/Antifa “most peaceful” summer of rage “protesters” who did $2,000,000,000 of damage and kicked business owners to death who committed the crime of trying to protect their businesses?
This “judge” can ESAD, these guys performed a necessary community service and should get a monetary reward.
Fine. Can’t wait to bring a lawsuit when the American flag is burned.
That’s nice, certainly.
But, there is a lot of ground between the judgment and the actual money.
Speaking from experience...
Actually, corporal punishment is the only way to go with these types. They won’t “pay” money, they don’t have any. But a few lashes of the whip and they would stop this nonsense. Ask all the Antifa people in Singapore how they feel about it? :-)
