Hammerhead sharks are pretty harmless to humans. Only about a couple handful of attacks on humans in the past 500 years, none fatal.

I think the majority of bad attacks are from great whites, bull, and tiger sharks.

Hammerhead sharks are pretty harmless to humans.
I went scuba diving with a group in an area specifically known to have a lot of hammerhead sharks. We didn't see any, unfortunately, which is common because scuba divers scare them away rather easily.
