Two drag performers and roommates are removing their damaged items from their North Seattle townhome after it went up in flames Saturday due to somebody else’s illegal fireworks.
"This isn’t just our home, it’s also our place of work. We get ready here," said Sreya, who preferred to go by their drag name. "And I design for other performers.”
No injuries were reported, but residents of three townhomes were displaced. Investigators ruled the fire was accidental and likely caused by fireworks. They estimated the loss to be $100,000.
At 12:38 a.m., more than an hour after the fire was first reported to 911, the fire was fully extinguished by Seattle firefighters.
"This whole stairway was like full of glass," said Sreya, showing the devastation left behind.
Sadly, the damage was due to no fault of their own.

Nice. As a would-be wag, I wish I had said that...
The news story has direct links to an instagram page, and reads like an ad for venmo or whatever fundraising goes to the drag victims.
I bet they do that for all crime victims.
“...While they like, ya know, like try to, like, figure out like their next step, Sreya like said he’s open for like, ya know, hire as a ya know drag performer.”
the language this modern [sic] generation hits me like, ya know, the sound of fingernails across like, ya know, a blackboard...like...
illegal fireworks made the news there for this small damage but Antifa was just peaceful protests?
Drag Queens banged out of home. LOL
What a drag.
In SF? One of the garbage cans must have caught on fire.
They displaced two other families damaging their townhomes.
Jail time and repaying those families should be in store for these firebugs.
Its not feel good. Two other families are without homes because of them.
Sure, someone elses fireworks. Possible. But possible they were lighting them off.
Like, yeah, you know, like literally (pronounced “litter-lee”)
Saturday was July 1.
Maybe they were celebrating Canada Day 😀.
Well, that sucks for them. As usual.
“Sadly, the damage was due to no fault of their own.”
“Sadly” not their fault. Why is that “sad”??
Their house burned and it wasn’t their fault, and that’s sad.
I see what you did there. :-)
