In honor of Willie Nelson who woke up proclaiming he's still not dead today, yet again, despite what tablet doth say. π€£
Willie Nelson - Still Not Dead
His older sister did die in June of 2023 at the age of 91. Willie is only 90. π€£
What a great American weed smoker. Itβs nice to see such good support ππ»
That locked thread was even a double post, two funny.
Just the other day, I was amused to discover that the famous secret code, er Sacred Cod in the "Hub" of the solar system had been returned to its rightful place on the very day Willie arrived into the world:
In the early hours of April 29, [1933,] after repairs to three damaged fins, the Sacred Cod was re-hung in the House chamber, "six inches [15 cm] higher [than] the reach of any individual. A stepladder will be needed to remove it in the future."β[note 6]
University of Massachusetts
Using a stepladder, on November 14, 1968, students at the new Boston campus of the University of Massachusetts took the Sacred Cod...
Now someone might come along and wonder what kind of funny business is it to even consider that there could be a relationship.
Well, I'm kind of like that. I take relationships seriously. Always on the outside looking in, but it's a great view:
If you had not have fallen
Then I would not have found you
Angel flying too close to the ground
And I patched up your broken wing
And hung around a while
Tryin' to keep your spirits up
And your fever down
I knew someday that you would fly away
For love's the greatest healer to be found
So leave me if you need to, I will still remember
Angel flying too close to the ground
Fly on, fly on past the speed of sound
I'd rather see you up than see you down
So leave me if you need to, I will still remember
Angel flying too close to the ground
Leave me if you need to, I will still remember
Angel flying too close to the ground
Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground
~ Willie Nelson American Progress
What's not to love? The little Angel is carrying plenty of rope, to get the message across.
Can you believe there was even a sarcastic suggestion in 1937 that the Sacred Cod be swapped for a greyhound? Crazy, because they are the same thing. π
(I've got a time machine and I'm not afraid to use it.)
How on Earth could it be possible for Willie Nelson to reach 90, and even continue touring?
Only God.
Did King David (a man after God's own heart) have an ear for the best musicians, songwriters, and singers, or what?
Makes sense. The Temple plays both kinds of music: Country *and* Western.
(Don't bury me I've got a show to play.)
I cannot stand him snd his politics.
I hate his music.
I love the movies he made.
I wish him well.
Willie is an American icon
What kind of world are we going to leave to him?
Interesting story, Thanks for sharing. π
Many years ago, the Abilene, TX radio station played “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain” the entire day. I don’t know why but think the dj locked himself in. So, call a locksmith.
This is as good a day as any to stop.
ducking under desk...
Ouch!
Yuppers
We had a Good Run.
.
Love the Picture.
I miss Fairbanks.
That reminds me... should Willie outlive Keith, the Internet is going to need a better meme:
*Willie* reading the obits, saying, "Hey Mick, look who I outlived this week."

In any event, who doesn't love Willie. That would be downright un-American. I don't have any interest in weed, but he sure could take the everybody-loves-to-hate, lowly 'Christmas sweater' to new highs.
Ageless:
Willie Nelson - I'll Love You Till The Day I Die (Official Lyric Video)
My son is at the Willie Nelson 4th of July picnic in Austin today, not of his own accord. He is 90 years old and still canβt sing a lick.
Thanks, I’d never had the pleasure of hearing that song before. π
Age has given Willie “character”.
I have to agree with that assessment. π
