PASADENA, Texas – An 18-year-old Pasadena Taco Bell employee has been arrested after allegedly pulling a gun on a customer in the drive-thru after the customer decided to cancel their order, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

Bryan Alexander Carranza, who, according to court records, is a shift lead at Taco Bell, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon. He’s being held on a $20,000 bond but prosecutors asked for his bond to be set at $40,000.

The incident happened Saturday evening at the Taco Bell located at 302 Southmore Ave.

“The victim had pulled up and was in the process of fixing to place an order, a to-go order, and got a phone call and decided to cancel the order,” Pasadena PD media relations officer Jessica Ramirez said. “As he was pulling through the drive-thru, the suspect just started yelling at him through the window.”

Carranza and the victim had an argument, which is when Carranza pulled the gun from his waistband. The victim called 911.

“While the victim was on the phone with our dispatch center, the suspect came out and began pulling on his door and also punching himself in the face,” Ramirez said.

Police took Carranza into custody without incident and said that he smelled of alcohol.

“Something as simple as ordering food that turned into something a lot more,” Ramirez said.

Carranza was reportedly a team lead at the restaurant for two years.

Taco Bell has not responded to KPRC 2′s request for comment.

Can’t blame him for canceling the order, the food at Taco Bell is crap.

Also can’t blame the employee for pulling a gun to get the order completed, as it was likely the only order that day, given how crappy their food is.

"...the suspect came out and began pulling on his door and also punching himself in the face,” Ramirez said.

Why would the suspect punch himself in the face?

The suspect came out, began pulling on his (victim’s) car door, and punching HIMSELF in the face!

This ex-employee has got some deep and serious problems.
At very least, he was drinking on the job.

Gee, when I worked at Pizza Hut (both Taco Bell and Pizza Hut owned by Pepsico at the time), we didn’t mind canceled orders. It just meant we got to bring home free pizza.

Oh, I like that. Could make a T-shirt for that store. Gotta keep the customers on their toes.

The Taco Bell near me is the only fast food joint I’ll go to because their employees are so friendly. Oh, and the closest Wendy’s has nice folks working there, too. Otherwise, I stay away from the riffraff working at the others.

Ask not for whom the taco bell tolls. It tolls for thee.

My son delivered for InstaCart for a while. When the customer was not home to receive the order, he got to keep the entire order. He scored some great food!
