The boy died after sustaining injuries at a self defence class (Image: Chinese media) An eight-year-old boy has allegedly been killed by his martial arts instructor just one day after joining a class in China.
The child, whose identity has not been revealed, enrolled in self-defence lessons at the Chongde Juying Martial Arts Sports Club in Qingdao, Shandong.
According to reports from Chinese media, parents had paid more than £1,000 for a year-long coaching programme at the club that had obtained its license and registration in April.
Chinese media suggest his heart had stopped beating 20 minutes prior to his arrival at the hospital.
Following their loss, the parents received a distressing video allegedly depicting their son appearing pale and covered in bruises. Mr Zhai, the boy's father, received the video around 11 am on June 18.
Expressing her outrage, the mother criticised instructors for not promptly seeking medical attention.
Images from the circulated footage, shared online in China, show the boy lying on the floor wearing an orange T-shirt displaying the training school's logo on the back, as reported by Fox News Digital.
A woman's voice can also be heard stating that the boy's "mum has told me she will not pick you up for one year" if he continues to collapse.
A man in the video is also seen attempting to support the injured child.
In response to the incident, the Chenyang branch of Qingdao's Public Security Bureau confirmed the arrest of three individuals associated with the martial arts club, including its owners, in connection with the boy's death.

I once belonged to a judo club run by Japanese Imperial veterans (in the 1960’s). They could be pretty brutal but a Caucasian black belt told me that the treatment was fairly typical of the Kodokan where he acquired his black belt. I learned to appreciate the interest the sensei’s took in the young “round eyes” when I realized they just wanted to make us strong. Of course, that kind of thing can be taken too far, like when trainees are killed in boot camp.

You weren’t 8 years old though, neither are the people in boot camp. Although I’d say if people are regularly dying in boot camp, you’re doing it wrong.
