False, cannot be

FRUkers here have said that the blue & yellow have B52s in the air at this moment with cobalt tipped cruise missiles aimed at Moscow.

I’ve crossed swords with you over this issue a few times, but on this I absolutely agree.

I would not, could not, cannot predict how it all ends.

To me the whole war is in a stalemate.

Having said that, I not sure the Ukes can push the Russians out of where they’re dug in, nor can the Russians make further territorial gains against the Ukrainians.

The best thing for both would be to call it a draw. Let the Donbas (Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts) go to Russia, Crimea stays where it is, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts go back to Ukraine, and Ukraine joins the EU and NATO.

There is a lot that’s off about MacGregor.
Among other things people give him credit for things that he didn’t do.

For one, I think he is often mistaken for H.R McMaster, who was in command of the Armored Cavalry Troop E (or Eagle, one of nine troops in the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment) directly engaged at 73 Easting. The famous combat at 73 Easting was an especially celebrated incident among very many others in that attack, which, as an operational maneuver, included no less than five heavy divisions, cutting across the Iraqi rear. 2 ACR was the covering force for VII Corps, or three divisions, of this massive advance.

Being the CO of the Troop, McMaster got the plaudits for the aggressive and successful handling of his unit. McMaster made it to Lt.General, and eventually was Donald Trumps National Security Advisor (after Flynn, before Bolton). Apparently he didn’t get along with Trump. Some people labelled him a neocon.

MacGregor on the other hand was NOT the hero of 73 Easting. He was a staff officer, the operations officer of 2nd Squadron, 2ACR. He did not command any unit at any level of the 2ACR. He did however subsequently write and talk a lot about 73 Easting.

I’m sure MacGregor did his duty well. 2ACR was an elite formation in a US Army that was at its peak at the time, and that operational maneuver (planned and directed by Norman Schwartzkopf and Tommy Franks) succeeded brilliantly. But he does not have a direct claim on a brilliant feat of arms. He was just one of hundreds of staff officers who also did a good job that week.

What general talks this way of an operation no matter how foolish? You wait until the last chopper is off the roof.

Is this what we have left in our military?

I see a large budget cut. 2nd Amendment is all that will save us from China and Democrats

Not Tommy Franks, sorry. CO VII Corps was Frederick Franks. Tommy Franks was assistant division commander of the 1st Cavalry Division in 1991 (under Frederick Franks).

OK, his statement is bizarre. We agree. So next, why would anyone post his statements on our FR?

Tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions even!!!

How about this alternative: most of what you read is bullshit.

Hint, Google “Ukraine leaked documents Newsweek,” and look at what our own defense department thinks is real. Very different from what you think is real.

"All three made their march on Russia,"

No one is marching on Russia. Russia invaded Ukraine, and Russia has not won.

Newsweek reports it was bad.
“Russia can barely support its forces and is in a mad rush to replenish its troops on the battlefield. U.S. intelligence concludes that as many as 43,000 Russian soldiers have been killed and 180,000 have been wounded since February 2022. That’s more than the entire size of the initial invading force. The war has also been costly for Ukraine; its losses are as high as 131,000 killed and wounded.”

I can’t even believe he tweeted that and I knew he works for the Russians.

The media has given you a Russia Russia Russia suppository.

World affairs board on MacGregor, link 1, link 2, and "Cobra II: The Inside Story of the Invasion and Occupation of Iraq" by Michael Gordon and Bernard Trainor has unfavorable words to say about MacGregor.

He was a good and capable officer 30 years ago. He also is not as smart as he thinks he is and burned every bridge between the Gulf and Iraq wars. When retired military build up their reputation years after they left the service, its a warning sign their opinions of themselves are not universally shared by those who knew them.

As a private American citizen I know little of how the war is really going on over in the Ukraine area. This is probably because a lot of the reporting from that war is about at the same knowledge level as I am. ALL the reports can’t possibly be right, so I guess the main objective of the reporting is an effort to keep this war going.

Thank you for posting MacGregor’s pro-Russia spin from March of 2022. I thought he had a history of predicting imminent Ukrainian collapse, right from the beginning. You saved me the trouble of looking it up.

I’ll offer a prediction of my own, in two parts:
1) At roughly the second anniversary of Russia’s latest aggression, i.e. February 2024, this war will still be going on.
2) At roughly that time, MacGregor will opine (yet again!) that Ukraine is about to collapse.

You can look at his videos and put together him saying the same thing for 16 months, over and over, and over, every month “It’s over” “the end” “annihilated”, “finished”.

Read the DOD slides and forget the media editorializing of them.

If you look at the slides, you see that Russia has not suffered the casualties claimed in our MSM.

About 2/3rds of all the equipment used in this war by Ukraine at this point is being supplied by the West...

Only look at the sides and forget the Newsweek article, it’s just more MSM junk.
