The government-backed group, once tasked with dealing with such things as school shootings and kidnappings, has now, thankfully, pivoted to addressing the existential problem of furry ridicule.
The Safer Schools Initiative, a government-backed organization, recently warned teachers and parents not to ridicule or overreact to schoolkids who identify as “Furries” – defined as “a person who dresses up in costume as such a character or uses one as an avatar online.” Those who identify and dress up as an animal deserve our respect, says SSI. Students who adopt “fursonas,” or personalized animal characters-- and who don fur suits or furry costumes-- need to “feel comfortable expressing themselves,” or so says the respected safe-guarding body.
The group, once tasked with dealing with such things as school shootings and kidnappings, has now, thankfully, pivoted to addressing the existential problem of furry ridicule. Its website offers important tips on dealing with the growing numbers of Furries and suggests that one should always approach the child’s interest with “no judgment” and limitless “understanding.” The tips include such gems as, “If a child or young person in your care begins to show an interest in joining any community, be it online or off, how you approach and handle any related conversations is crucial.” And, “It is important to build a safe environment for them based on trust, where they feel comfortable expressing themselves to you.”
Indeed! If a student shows up in a classroom dressed as, say, a squirrel, the teacher should welcome and embrace the wannabe rodent.

Another Reason to Homeschool!!(
Aww hell no. From my understanding sexual deviancy is part and parcel of furrie culture. So putting a kabosh on it in schools is 100% necessary.
So you are a self deluded leftist.
Too many school filled with kids who can't read or do math at grade level.
Educations Departments are putting out indoctrinated idiots - that's what need to change.
Until that's changed it's best for teachers to stick to reading, writing and arithmetic and leave perversions out of the curriculum....
Not just humor them, but indulge them.
You are a sweet loving Christian who practices his Faith only one hour on Sundays. Otherwise, you would not have responded to me in that fashion.
I am of a particular denomination of Christian who would not like people from another denomination teaching religion to my children. Your brand, in particular, is obviously not suitable. I can go into some detail if you wish; however, I have been through this issue countless times before on this site.
I don’t identify with doing a “furry” any real harm for dressing the way they do but a little ridicule could be called for. After all, they brought it on themselves. If dressing this way disrupts a classroom to any extent, then discipline would be called for.
Demonstrating conclusively you are a self deluded leftist.
