We’ll have it back to normal at some point! A lot of work for sure and we’re feeling our age (mid 50s). Our kids are helping when they can.
It is pretty here, and I love the shade. I do sometimes wish our trees were “mid size” and not 80-100’ When one falls it does so much damage. We had someone take down several trees around our house a few years ago that seemed not to be thriving but these trees all look pretty healthy. It was almost all tulip poplar that fell and I wonder if they have a shallow root system.
Spunky, we weren’t home but normally in storms we head to the basement which is half underground. Our neighbor was stuck in his shed during this storm, that must have been pretty scary!
Sweetie - mosquitos do get bad around dusk, but we have a lot of dragonflies and bats that keep the numbers down. Not nearly as bad as in Florida, I get eaten up down there.
New computer and son had me stop using Nortons.

I am SO SORRY for your daughter. I completely understand that pain of watching your sweat and toil literally wash away. I start mine in February as well, this year even put in a drip system. We also had weeks of rain and mud and I thought all was lost. My tomatoes were all suffering blight and most everything had fallen over. But then we had weeks of no rain and most things bounced back. Maybe the same can happen for Natalie. My zuchinni appears to be lost, though.
After the heavy rain, I have had to spray much more neem, BT, and put out sticky traps for aphids and Sluggo for slugs.
On years like this, I save seeds I can, chalk it up to experience, stock up on canned/dried veggies and hope for a better year in the future. At least in GA, I know we will always have kudzu to eat 🙄

I went full LED a long time ago. These LEDs still get hot. Still better than those CFLs and halogens.
The dogs were a little shaken, but they seem back to themselves now. I think this girl thinks we can’t see her 😂

May the results favor you! I'm okay, but may need another contractor! Sometimes It sucks hugely to be alone but in the end,I'll go with what my final decision is.It's not my first rodeo on this! But still stressful!
