The army here, or somebody, had discovered some ordnance left over from WWII and they were exploding it at the air force base about 1.3km away. So, it was totally expected and theoretically controlled.
I heard the boom, but it surprised me that the house shook significantly. I thought I was further away than that.

A good friend died of Guillain-Barré Syndrome days after getting a flu shot. Could only move her big toe. Horrible.
