A transgender man is speaking out about his recent, recorded visit to a local Walgreens - during which he was denied a prescribed hormone treatment by one of the chain's pharmacists because it 'went against his religion.'
Laid bare in a since-deleted post to Reddit Tuesday that included video of the encounter, the incident involves 30-year-old Roscoe Rike of Oakland, as well as an unnamed pharmacist at the aforementioned store on Telegraph Avenue.
Currently transitioning from female to male, Rike says he has been a customer at the Walgreens for years - picking up his HRT medication, short for 'hormone replacement therapy,' to move along the process.
However, that all changed this past Monday when he was denied that medication by the lone pharmacist on staff, on the basis that giving him the hormone pills would come in direct violation of his religious beliefs.
A longheld store policy allows team members to take such action - forgoing responsibilities that may contradict their 'religious and moral beliefs' by pawning them over to another, more-inclined worker on duty.
This did not stop Rike, however, from launching on an expletive-laden rant toward the worker Monday, who aside from a manager and pharmacy technician, apparently was alone and thus did not transfer the customer to another staffer.
This angered Rike to no end, who quickly whipped out his phone to record the ensuing encounter.
'So right now you're telling me that you're going to deny me my medication because of your personal religion,' Rike is heard telling the man in the footage, which has since been pulled but not before going viral.

There is no such animal as a “transgender” man.
Walgreens was among the first to remove cigarettes from their shelves, and in Florida will not sell over-the-counter morning after pills unless under a doctors care because of the dangers they can pose to those taking it. They appear to really care - very impressive!
Why does it have to be religious beliefs?
A pharmacist should fill prescriptions that doctors order. Should a pharmacist who doesn’t believe in birth control not fulfill those prescriptions?
Not condoning the customer’s response though.
Why not religious beliefs?
To some, their faith is the most important part of their lives!
Did you ask the same question when the cake bakery was involved in the same way?🤔
For the second time today:
My tag line is proven correct every single day.

BREAKING!!!!! Cross dressers are a thing. Changing your chromosome make up......not so much. 💃🕺🤔
Totally agree. The pharmacist is supposed to fill legitimate prescriptions from doctors. End of story.
“ Should a pharmacist who doesn’t believe in birth control not fulfill those prescriptions?”
No. He or she shouldn’t.

Do your job or find another. Why is this given the time of day?
So a pharmacist should check his religious beliefs at the door then.
How do you suppose God feels about that?

A pharmacist should be able to not provide birth control due to religious beliefs, because otherwise they would be like slaves.
CVS would not fill any ivermectin or HCQ MD prescriptions
Is CVS the corporation bigger or smarter than a staffer
I’m starting to “not believe” these tirades caused by “religious beliefs”. The oldest tactic in the book-—”those Christians did it”.
Grandstanding. The fact that she recorded herself chewing out the pharmacist show how important it is to her that she’s the center of attention.
Good point and true. The left always states “it’s their right to deny”....until they are “denied”.
” Should a pharmacist who doesn’t believe in birth control not fulfill those prescriptions?”
Ethical pharmacist shouldn’t and morally can’t fill those Rx.
Yeah, it’s not much of a leap to leftist pharmacists refusing to fill them for conservatives because they think we should die. I can see if it was for a minor, but if an adult wants to mutilate themselves, it’s not his business.
