Why are so many major companies going woke and stiffing shareholders? Because their biggest shareholders are massive funds that push wokeness under the guise of formulas like ESG.
(snip)
Fink’s latest dispatch deemphasizes ESG investing — increasingly a politically fraught topic — compared to his most recent annual letters. In fact, the term ESG does not appear anywhere in the letter.
The energy transition concerns are not raised until paragraph 18, and the word “climate” doesn’t appear until the eighth page of the lengthy letter. Even when it does, climate is only used five times.

Gotta credit to DeSantis in this one. He very publicly went after this ESG nonsense.
If only companies being blackmailed ala Fink and Blackrock could pull a page out of the James O'Keefe notebook....
They’ll do it on the down low.
Black Rock was not the only global company caught in the middle of this thinking no one would respond.
It was not “just” Florida that pulled capital from Black Rock. Texas and a long list of oil producing states did also.
Expect a pivot, the words will change the goals will not.
They love dictatorships, Marx, and Lenin, and Stalin, and Mao. These people are evil, keep your eyes on them, and when they come out with the next round of Bovine Excrement, we call it out faster and louder.
Agreed, and twice as hard.
And you have to credit the former drinkers of Bud Light. Their message was heard loud and clear.
Name change coming ,LOL
Exactly, it’s a head fake.
It’s not just Blackrock with some 8 trillion dollars under management. A lot of Blackrock’s success is due to the Democrats sending them stimulus money. They were “loaned” a huge amount during the 2008 crisis to buy up repossessed homes and then to rent them out as Section 8. This was free money which made them that much bigger and more important. Another player is Calpers, the California Retirement System. You can’t get that investment money without a good ESG/DEI score. Then there are the banks that provide short term loans. No good ESG/DEI score, no short-term loans. This is likely why Budweiser and Target can’t apologize and move on. What I would have expected but hasn’t happened is lawsuits for “compelled speech.” I suspect the victims, like Budweiser and Target think they can’t win that fight in time before they go bankrupt. And, even if they do win a win may not result in getting the short term credit they need. All those banks rely on having a government supplied operating certificate and the government requires them to go the ESG/DEI route. If a court said otherwise, but they dragged their feet in complying then the winning companies would go out of business anyway.
“They’ll do it on the down low.”
Agreed.
Just give it a new name and new modeling.
New Crapola is same as the Old Crapola.
Our corrupt ‘elites’ are starting to realize the American people are walking away from them...

Bud Light really learned their lesson. Oh wait...

These fools need to do one thing, their job. Their job is making money for the share holders. That is their only job.
My company had a single policy when it came to “causes”. We supported none of them, it was not our business. Our business and our only business was to provide the very best product, service and price to our customers we possibly could. In everything else we did not take sides. I never ever had a question about it from anyone.
Bud Light is learning its lesson from both sides. Even the LGBTQueers are mad with Bud Light now.
Fink was born on November 2, 1952.[7][8] He grew up one of three children in a Jewish family[9] in Van Nuys, California, where his mother Lila (1930-2012) was an English professor and his father Frederick (1925-2013) owned a shoe store.[3] He earned a BA in Political Science from UCLA in 1974.[8] Fink is also a member of Kappa Beta Phi.[10] He then received an MBA in Real Estate at the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management in 1976.[8][11]
“They’ll do it on the down low.”
Yup—they were dumb enough to let us know they are our enemies.
Our job is to never forget.
“These people are evil, keep your eyes on them,”
Yes they are relentless. They never, ever stop. They are the termites and roaches of society.
Only eternal vigilance and constant fumigation works on them, and often we are negligent in our fumigation.
He got that support because he is willing to stand with the Uniparty RINOs within the Republican Party who are complicit in the destruction of this nation, for they are only concerned about financially feathering their own nests, and to hell with their base & this nation. Had he not taken up the issue, he may have even lost his reelection bid.
You apparently have learned nothing.
“And you have to credit the former drinkers of Bud Light. Their message was heard loud and clear.”
Our problem is we win a battle and we think we won the war, and go back to sleep.
The other side never, ever stops. They might retreat a bit but they come back more determined than ever, and as usual we’ll be asleep.
