“This paradox has long been predicted by climate modelers”
I never heard this prediction before.
Of course, if you predict everything, quietly, you can always claim credit publicly for the predictions which panned out, ignoring the ones did not.

Less polluting particulate matter in the atmosphere following United States and Europeans filters on chimneys allows more sunlight to reach and warm the ocean (Atlantic) surface as has already been reported.

The headline or actual facts don’t matter.
The answer is that you are greedy, uncaring, and HOW DARE YOU.
Your taxes need to raised, and we WILL CONTROL what and when you drive .

Some of this could be attributed to the standard lapse rate. Something every airplane driver is familiar with. Temperature typically drop 3 degrees for every thousand feet. The exception of course is when you have an air inversion. During cold winter weather in these parts it can be ten to twenty degrees colder a few miles away and 400 feet lower than here.

They have created an industry selling this idea.
Yale as other schools, NASA, NOA... Budgets and people’s careers depend on it.
If you throw this junk in the trash, where it belongs, many high paying jobs, fees for services, taxes, subsidies, go away. Climate change was monetized, and after that it took off.

They haven’t proven a damn thing. For all we know, the upper atmosphere was probably much colder in the Late Cretaceous (T-Rex time).

There is a paradox at the heart of our changing climate. While the blanket of air close to the Earth’s surface is warming, most of the atmosphere above is becoming dramatically colder. It may NOT be true that the blanket of air close to the Earth’s surface is warming. This is an unsupported assertion.
The blanket of air close to the Earth’s surface is also cooling.

The good news for climate scientists is that the data on cooling aloft do more than confirm the accuracy of the models that identify surface warming as human-made.“

When I read these stories, I can’t help hearing (in my mind, of course!) Jerry Seinfeld reacting to the news:
“It’s hot, it’s cold, it’s hot, it’s cold..... pick a temperature and go with it!”
