Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin said Saturday he has ordered his fighters to halt their march on Moscow and return to their bases in Ukraine to avoid bloodshed.

Prigozhin's announcement seemingly puts an end to what observers called the most significant challenge to Russian President Vladimir Putin's regime in his 23 years in power.

In audio posted to social media, Prigozhin said that while his troops were just 120 miles from Moscow, he chose to turn back to avoid "shedding Russian blood."

“But Prigozhin may be regrouping.”

More likely circling the wagons. Or planning his exit to a safe place. Whatever, this whole thing is a truly bizarre episode.

“Even the French could have defended Paris from a ragtag group of mercenaries.”
***********

Actually, Putin could learn from the French experience with their Foreign Legion. In 1961 when DeGaulle was preparing to grant Algeria its sovereignty and independence he ordered the Legion to evacuate Algeria and return to France. Being Algeria was the Legions historic home they rebelled and refused to obey De Gaulles orders. In the end, the legion was brought back to France and severely downsized. It took the legion several years to recoup their image.
Anyway, interesting comparison. Google it. An interesting read.

Interesting how it’s gone from Kiev to be taken as victory to Moscow not taken is victory.

It's even funnier how Wagner was your boogie men, but now their your heroes. You freaks will latch on to anything, it's both hilarious and disturbing.

It was just getting interesting.

At least we know that the high-ranking leader ship of Russia turned tail and ran well before precautions got within striking distance of Moscow. That shows not only their cowardice, but also their knowledge that their Armed Forces guarding their capital are either completely incompetent, or not quite so loyal, as they make it out to be for the rest of the world.

Prigozhin, not “precautions “ - Siri needs lessons in Russian.

Putin could do that but at the same time he needs Wagner Mercenaries because the Russian military is incompetent.

Maybe so, but I’m skeptical. The last I heard it was the search for the sub. Before that it was something else that I now can’t recall - and before that it was yet another thing. Hard to keep up with all the things that are allegedly distracting from the texts.

Wagner chief is still toast. Putin has a long memory. There will be some head-chopping in the future.

"It's even funnier how Wagner was your boogie men, but now their your heroes."

You're right. A few weeks ago, chief Youkazoid RevMom was posting articles by CIA asset Denys Dildosevich with titles like, "Wagner Fleeing From Bakhmut!!!" and crowing how Wagner had been decimated. How would it be possible for a "decimated" force to capture Moscow? Hmm. In fact, how likely would it be that a force of 25,000 men would be able to overthrow the current Russian government; one that has clear majority support of both the Russian people and the Russian military?

Looking over some of the breathless, Youkazoid,suddenly-pro-Wagner hopium threads that were popping up today like mushrooms, I'm betting that FR's Team Youcrayne is hitting the cheap vodka real, real hard after Wagner's sudden turnaround. Lol!

Now back to our regularly scheduled program. . .

Slavo Youcraney!

I despise Hitler V Putin just as much as I hate the little gay dancing grease stain leftist/globalist puppet Zelenskyyyyy in Youcrayne. And I absolutely loathe the fact that the US is, once again, helping fuel mayhem and death in the world via sticking its nose where it doesn't belong and shoveling its citizen's money to corrupt regimes and to the corrupt scumbags who run them.

But let's be honest here: Only the Grifting Grease Stain Zelenskyyyyy prances around in high heels and does the "pole" dance. Only the Grease Stain runs around naked in a warehouse with clearly homosexual men, grabbing their butts. Only the Grease Stain strips off his clothes and pretends to play the piano with his pecker.

So really, who presents as more of a clown?

Slavo Youcrayney!
