Lyrics
(Turn around) Every now and then I get a little bit lonely And you're never coming round

After seeing the original, which is close to the platonic ideal of an early ‘80s MTV video, try this version, where the lyrics are changed to match what’s on the screen:

Stars slow, but give it time . . .
“What kind of private school lets in these kinds of guys
It started out like Hogwarts now it’s ‘Lord of the Flies’”
LOL!
Takes me back to the early 80’s when my posse and I would go “cruising for chicks”. This song would come on and we wouldn’t change the station, just so we all could sing, in chorus, “...total eclipse of the fart!” (and then make farting noises). We’d laugh at how stupid it all was. 🤪
And I thought Rick Springfield was singing “and she’s loving him with that farty, I just know it”.
It was appropriate: The original title Steinman gave it was “Vampires in Love” for the play “Nosferatu”. Tyler tried to make some ballad about loneliness and longing and stuff, but every time I hear it I think “vampire soap opera”. lol
Ha ha ha ha! I will NEVER hear "Jessie's Girl" the same way, ever again!! 🤪
What a genius.
Written this afternoon. I promise I won’t quit my day job.
Dad sat me down when I was four.
He said, “Son, here’s what that guitar’s for:
Take this gasoline and take this match,
And watch that fire make quick dispatch.”
Dad sat me down when I was four.
He said, “Son, here’s what those drums are for:
When you’re fourteen and you want to beat off,
The rhythmn you learned will help you boff.”
Dad sat me down when I was four.
He said, Son, here’s what that piano is for:
Strike the keys with skill and grace,
And don’t ever take up harmonica, guitar, or drums.”
On your piano you play “Rhapsody in Sniffin Glue.”
