There just has to be a limit on stupidity, somewhere, even if it’s in another galaxy, even if its 1500 feet under the ocean surface.

The Titanic hull was riveted rather than welded. Most likely the iceberg ripped a seam and the rivets failed just like opening a zipper.

Is it true there was a fire smoldering in the coal bunker fuel storage area of the ship that the crew was unable to extinguish dockside? And that they sailed for the USA with it still burning within, albeit with a few replacement crew who refused to go with on the voyage with a fire burning inside the ship?
Story goes that halfway, the captain was advised that the fire was impacting the integrity of the steel structure of the ship in the coal bunker area and he increased speed to get to the US docking before further problems arose?

Some rivets were recovered and tested under modern equipment and found to have been substandard for the time............

There is a LOT to this... just scratching the surface. There is the insurance angle with White Star and the Olympic. Jekyll Island meeting before the sinking. FED "reserve" a huge part of it all.

The Federal Reserve, Jekyll Island and Titanic/Olympia

The type of steel used to build those ships was a more brittle type to save costs. Ramming an iceberg at full speed was something the Titanic, or other ships, would be unlikely to survive. No need for wild conspiracy theories.

Maybe people should read, “The Titan,” that predicted the Titanic disaster that was published a few years before it happened.

Wow, what a great conspiracy theory. But the steel on the Titanic was proven to be inferior steel that was brittle in the cold waters, and easily gashed by a glancing blow from an iceberg.

My favorite Titanic conspiracy theory involves the sister ship Olympic.

The story goes that the Olympicc was involved in a collision, and couldn't be properly repaired, but the insurance company wouldn't write off the Olympic as a total loss.

So White Star secretly switched the Olympic and the Titanic one night, changing all the names, fittings, etc., with ship name markings, so that the damaged Olympic became the ill-fated Titanic that sunk weeks later and a full insurance claim was paid off.

The real Titanic lived on as the Olympic for years, until she was scrapped in 1935.

Er, no one would ever have thought for a second about salvaging the Titanic back then. This is dumber than Chemtrails.

My conspiracy theory is that the Titanic sank because it filled up with dihydrogen monoxide. A known chemical compound found in all sunken ships.

So it was the Jooz, right?

Just like it was the Jooz who killed JFK over his opposition to the State of Israel getting nukes, isn’t that right?

Aw come on, if it was attacked, you’d think the Navy would’ve known about it before ever... what?... the Navy knew about it and didn’t tell anyone else, not even rescuers?

But I do think the ice vs steel/jet fuel vs steel is applicable, just in the opposite way the author intends. Just like the real question with the WTC wasn’t whether jet fuel was hot enough to MELT steel (softening it was sufficient), the real question here isn’t whether an ice berg can rip open a ship but whether the impact could have BENT steel enough to let water in. So again, it makes sense that people would have heard a loud collision more than tearing metal.
