As crews race against the clock to locate and rescue the passengers of the submersible that vanished while visiting the Titanic wreck, the stepson of one of the missing didn’t let the unfolding ordeal keep him from one of his passions: rocking out with Blink 182.
Brian Szasz — whose billionaire stepfather Hamish Harding is one of the five people who could be trapped in total darkness 12,000 feet down beneath the Atlantic Ocean with about 40 hours of oxygen left — shared Monday that he was attending a Blink 182 concert in California despite the ongoing situation.
“It might be distasteful being here but my family would want me to be at the blink-182 show as it’s my favorite band and music helps me in difficult times!” he wrote in Facebook.

Why is this a thing? He’s got to exist *somewhere*. Why not exist for a few hours at a concert? I’m not going to condemn the guy for being at a concert.
That’s my feeling as well. How many people are actually seen donning Sackcloth and Ashes to show their sorrow? Probably none. Everyone expresses grief or deals with worry in their own way. If this stepson is like many of his generation, he is unchurched, so going to a nearby church and lighting a candle would not even occur to him. Maybe he doesn’t do candles or prayer. Some concert gives him a place to be alone with his thoughts without being literally alone.
Me? I’d probably rather be alone at such a time.
What’s he supposed to do - dive into the Atlantic and stay there searching until he finds that sub?
(Not being cold here, but sitting in a corner, biting one’s nails worrying will not help one iota.)
Jeez. I don’t give a crap what the stepson does. Maybe this rich clown treated the kid like shyt. After all he didn’t want experienced professional submariners on his boat. A moron really. Then he gets more people killed. Stepson is probably lucky.
I bet the teenager that is on the sub would have enjoyed a concert much more . There are chicks at the show.

Those folks are more likely than not already deceased. Why do you think he should stop his life because his stepfather may have passed on literally thousands of miles away?
