Bam Margera has been speaking with his five-year-old son Phoenix as he continues to try to get clean at a rehab center ran by Lamar Odom.
The Jackass alum, 43, is focusing on his son as his source for motivation to get and stay sober, sources told TMZ Tuesday, following a difficult stretch for the TV personality in recent months.
The Viva La Bam star has reached an accord with estranged wife Nicole Boyd, 39, to be able to communicate with Phoenix, her lawyer David Glass told the outlet.
Margera on June 4 was located by authorities at a Trejo's Tacos location in Los Angeles and taken in for a 5150 psychiatric hold after he took to social media threatening to end his life if he could not reunite with his son.
Margera had taken to social media May 30 in a clip he later deleted, claiming he would 'smoke crack' until he died unless he was able to see his son, saying, 'I haven't seen Phoenix in two f***ing months - I have to wake up every day, knowing that I probably won't get to talk to him or see him.'
Margera and his son have been using FaceTime to chat for about five minutes at a time while being supervised by one of the reality star's therapists.
Margera has not communicated directly with Boyd amid lingering tension between the two following her separation filing.

So now we’re down to essentially random people no one has ever heard of, and their attempts to get sober.
Just because you’ve never heard of them doesn’t mean they aren’t famous. Anyone under the age of 45-50 knows who Bam Margera is.
Too much money and time, and “friends” who drag you down, often equals a drug and alcohol fueled life.
At least for people like Bam.

How do you define famous? For me the metric means at a minimum almost 33% to 50% of people should have heard of you. I don’t think this metric applies at all to this dude. I bet it is probably closer to 5%.
Back around 1985 I had a falling out with my best friend over our excessive partying and drinking. We both went our separate ways while I stopped partying.
He owned a tool and die shop and fell in with another partier who also owned a company that was well established while my friend's was trying to start up.
Long story short, my friend lost his business then his house and was living in an upstairs flat belonging to some lady where he was found dead of a drug overdose around 1994.
