People came to Calvary Presbyterian Church in San Francisco Sunday for a “Drag Queen Bible Story Hour.”
Organizers were hoping to provide a different perspective after some of the push back that has occurred around the country around drag performances.
Reverend Victor Floyd said it was a first for the church.
“We’re hoping to offer a little balance to all of the hateful rhetoric that is out in the country and especially from churches and politicians, who are using churches and using trans people and drag queens as their props,” he said.
Floyd added that not everyone supported the church hosting the event.

I have no problem with a drag queen giving a testimonial at church. Not sure why the costume is necessary since drag is a performance art, a character, not a real identity.

Doesn’t seem any more controversial than Christian hard rock but I need to understand why this person has to be in costume. Is this community outreach?
San Francisco: most qualified city for the Sodom and Gomorrah treatment. Other blue cities are close behind.
God is very tolerant; Were I God, I’d be throwing lightning bolts at a lot of ‘Church Leaders’ by now.
I remember being a young teen in church and hearing when the anti-Christ comes to earth, he’ll be good looking, nice smile, firm handshake, and say all the words you want to hear. He will be the Lord of Lies. That always stuck with me.
Those property values can’t plummet fast enough.
I keep telling people, SanFran is now at the point where you the prices are low enough and enough people have left that you only need maybe 50,000 republicans to move in and that is enough to have a recall of the entire city council and you can vote in all republican candidates
Just because God is merciful and forgiving doesn’t mean He tolerates sin. I hope these people repent and turn from their sin before it is too late.
I know someone who thinks the PCUSA is moderate.
It would be amazing to see what’s a liberal church...what cook and eat the kids?
In Romans 1, God's judgment is displayed in giving these people up to depravity. We are watching judgment occur. (brimstone comes later)
San Francisco and Church makes no damn sense anyway.
I’m guessing that weekly attendance at Calvary Presbyterian Church in San Francisco has been in decline for some years.
Probably survives by renting out space to a migrant church that has standing room only at its services.
