I agree with the authors conclusion that money from drug trafficking has corrupted Arizona politics. Law enforcement has probably been corrupted as well.

To be clear it is apparent that the corruption discussed by Thaler and Breger is not exclusive to one party, as both Republicans and Democrats are named.

This might be true, but is deliberately misleading. Until proven otherwise, I’d guage corruption to be 95% rats and 5% republicans.
