I tend to overlook some of the agenda stuff, because any more it goes without saying that the movies are full of it (in more ways than one).
Totally ignored in the movie version, and revealed at the very end of the original story, is the revelation that the robot was the master, not Klaatu. Of course, that didn’t fit with the film maker’s liberal agenda.
