If you own one of these dangerous dogs, keep them secure and away from children? They will be nice and gentle until suddenly they are not. And when their jaws lock onto their prey, they refuse to let go.

Pit bulls should be bred out of existence.
Most people have no idea the extent of damage a dog, especially a pit bull, can do in a very short period of time. They can kill in less than 30 seconds, I know, I have seen it happen among other dogs. Some dogs just nip more as a warning than anything else and that might draw blood and a minor puncture wound. It can be any kind of dog, not just pit bulls that can go into attack mode.
My 27-year-old granddaughter adopted a formerly abused 4-year-old female Pitbull from a shelter. So far, she has been docile, except for the first time she was introduced to my daughter. My daughter tried to stare her down before putting her hand out to pet her and she promptly got nipped on the hand.
I had better sense when introduced to her and she was fine with me. Dogs love me but the German Shepherd is the only dog that has ever bitten me so I stay away from them. Even when I worked for a Vet as a tech, I was never bitten. I have handled Rottweilers, Dobermans, hounds of all types, Akitas, and many other aggressive breeds. I let the other techs handle the GSD’s.

....Following the horrific ordeal, Stickney contacted the police. The dog was not destroyed but the neighbor was forced to put a microchip in the animal and make it wear a muzzle whenever it goes outside.....

Got denied home ownerâs insurance this year because I had THREE dogs:
A Collie
An Australian Shepherd
A Corgie
Frankly I think it was the Corgie that did us in.
Pit bulls should not be allowed. People canât control them.
With some dogs, they might as well be lions and tigers and bears as totally not safe around anyone. Thank goodness for the lady and that she survived. Why wasn’t the dog secured in his own yard? Yeah, pets get out and they always show up at our house.

Instead they shred neighbor children.

Something that can’t be said too often about dogs in general: the different breeds were selectively bred, most over centuries, to exhibit specific instincts and characteristics.
Pointers and settlers point game birds, retrievers retrieve birds and many other things, herding breeds herd sheep and cattle, etc., etc., and pit bulls fight as they were bred to fight bulls and other large animals, and to grab them by the snout with their teeth.
The pure breeds do what they were bred to do and that can’t be taken out of them by any particular treatment by their owners.
Cue the defenders of the âgentle loving breedâ to show up and defend them ..
And the dog lives to kill another day.
Our grown daughter has always had pit bulls but up until recently just one at a time. The older one lived with us for several months and we became fond of her. However, she attacked their other one on Friday and our daughter tried to stop the fight. She ended up in the hospital and the doctor says she could have been killed. Theyâre putting down the older one. I hope that they put down or rehome the other one. This was this dogâs fourth time to be violent.
