A heroic grandmother was violently mauled as she wrestled her neighbor's violent pitbull with her bare hands to protect her two young grandchildren, leaving her dripping with blood after the dog tore chunks out of her face, legs and arms.
Rhonda Stickney, from Motley, Minnesota, said the dangerous animal lunged at her daughter Tiffani, 27, grandson Jaxsyen, four, and Keyahra, two, as they stood in her doorway.
The 50-year-old instinctively jammed herself between the aggressive mut and the children to protect them from being 'killed', only for the deranged dog to drag her outside by her leg.

Got denied home owner’s insurance this year because I had THREE dogs:
A Collie
An Australian Shepherd
A Corgie
Frankly I think it was the Corgie that did us in.
Whatever a pit does to an adult or a child, should be done to the owners.
Pit bulls should be banned by all jurisdictions. You want to own one, you have to live way out in the sticks. If it needs to go to the vet, put a muzzle on it.
We shouldn't be tolerating them anymore.
Somehow we ended up with something like an Amstaff/Boxer mix. Never showed any aggression (we did get him neutered) He was the best dog I ever had. Not smartest dog but a good one😄
Pit bulls should not be allowed. People can’t control them.
I have a Pitsky.... a husky / pitbull mix.
She retains ALL of the behavioral traits of a husky. Loves people, not a guard dog AT ALL, knows how to do tricks but is quite willful and won’t do one unless she knows it will get something for it, loves to pull on the leash when going for a walk, vocalizes a lot ‘ARHOOOooUHHHoooo’, in the husky world they call that ‘shouting’. Not an aggressive bone in her body.
“I have met some good pit bulls but as far as I’m concerned it’s a role of the dice on that.”
A good pitbull IMHO is like a fifty year old case of dynamite: It looks harmless but it can go off at any second and for any reason or for no reason at all.
Should be applied across the board.
Apparently grandma has one more thing to do to protect her grandchildren as the owner nor the authorities will do their duty.
If the neighbor is going to be able to keep the dog, grandma should arm up and keep a pistol on her side at all times. The dog will attack again.
With some dogs, they might as well be lions and tigers and bears as totally not safe around anyone. Thank goodness for the lady and that she survived. Why wasn’t the dog secured in his own yard? Yeah, pets get out and they always show up at our house.
Indeed should be bounty on them
One pitbull one 9mm ... problem solved
Pitbulls don’t attack the owners family.
Instead they shred neighbor children.
We don't want them either, but at least we can carry while outside and stand a better chance of protecting ourselves.
Always be carrying.
These dogs are advertised at shelters as terriers in the headlines. Upon further scrutiny you see the word “bull” terrier.
Was sure it would be a White grandmother, with mixed-race grandchildren. Was apparently mistaken!
Regards,
Agreed. That dog is beyond repair now. Should’ve been trained
Something that can’t be said too often about dogs in general: the different breeds were selectively bred, most over centuries, to exhibit specific instincts and characteristics.
Pointers and settlers point game birds, retrievers retrieve birds and many other things, herding breeds herd sheep and cattle, etc., etc., and pit bulls fight as they were bred to fight bulls and other large animals, and to grab them by the snout with their teeth.
The pure breeds do what they were bred to do and that can’t be taken out of them by any particular treatment by their owners.
