As can be seen by the desantis supporters posting in this thread, they are desperate to have desantis be the republican presidential candidate, and they don't hesitate to lie, gaslight and manipulate people to do so.
forgot to add all to previous post regarding discrepency in crowd size being pushed by desantis supporter.
And looking around, there are reports the basque fry event may have gotten lower turnout than expected, because many were turned off by laxalt turning the event into a campaign rally.
They are nothing but political hacks, selectively prosecuting crimes that rarely have any reason to be in the Federal criminal code in the first place.

There are fiscal & social conservatives. Those two types of conservatives overlap but are not identical and do not agree on all topics.
Only a fool would insist that to be “conservative” one would need to impose their world view & religion on all Americans. Only a rigid and truly ungodly person would fail to understand “reject the sin but not the sinner”. IOW acts that one believes are a sin are ubiquitous and must be placed in the context of personal belief rather than a means to dehuminize.
There have been homosexuals through recorded history. They are part of the human condition. That one facet does not define a persons’ totality nor does it erase the person’s other values & contributions.
I find the acts repellant and I think the lifestyle leads to health consequences. Like any sexual content discussions about such behaviors and lifestyles are inappropriate for children except where personal circumstances make such discussions inevitable. It is wrong to glamorize a mindset that leads to dangers and health consequences and can disrupt the natural evolution of a child’s sexuality. It is criminal IMO. That said we have individual freedom in America and private sexual behavior within America’s legal framework is protected.
Fiscal conservatives and libertarians favor capitalism, individualism, limited government, and laissez-faire economics. They advocate low taxes, free markets, deregulation, privatization, and reduced government spending and government debt.
Social conservatives see traditional social values, often rooted in the nuclear family and religion, as being threatened by secularism and moral relativism. They tend to support prayer in public schools and school vouchers for religious schools, while opposing abortion and LGBT rights.
A vote for DeSantis is a vote for the deep State. I don’t care how you slice it. He is in their pocket and they can twist and turn him like a Gumbi. There is only one man who can save this Nation and that is President Trump. If you can’t see that ,you must be blind or a Democrat.

Well, everyone views people and situations using different criteria, to judge the people and situations.
Your criteria are that DeSantis is simply an unacceptable candidate. Not everyone agrees with such criteria.
Among my criteria, are that, in a binary general election, with DeSantis vs. Biden, I would vote for DeSantis. You perhaps would vote differently. Everyone has their own criteria for deciding how to vote in elections.
So have your opinion. That’s part of what Free Republic is all about, free speech and free debate of issues.
I notice your lack of response on the subject of the evils of kicking the can down the road by choosing the lesser of evils. That mindset has brought us to America’s current desperate situation. We have connived in our own downfall by allowing the GOP to define our possibilities and mastermind America’s decline.
Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage rage at the dying of the light. DeSantis is bought & paid for. There is no choice between one puppet & another. To pretend there is such a difference cedes the battle to the enemy, allowing them to present a false reality and silence information. There can be no truth when only lies are allowed voice.
If you want to have a philosophical discussion about how neither political party represents us conservatives go for it. There is certainly a lot to discuss if you want to have a discussion about that.
Maybe we’re not even discussing the same subject. I’m talking about who we will vote for in an election. If you take the position that neither political party is worthy of support them what does one do in the election?
What are your plans for the 2024 election? If the GOP puts forth an unacceptable candidate , and there’s no way a good conservative could support the Democrats, who will you vote for?
Unless there is a good candidate I will write in Trump. I will not be complicit in the election of a “business as usual” GOP player or one that has Globalist/Uniparty support. I think it is a mistake to allow the establishment to perpetuate the mindset that they control the process.
It is stupid to do the same thing over & over and expect a different option. Even Charlie Brown eventually realizes that he is never going to be allowed to kick the football. If elections are corrupt participating is treasonous.
I fervently hope that if we, the people take a stand that the tree of liberty will not require blood shed to return America to the people.
