My kids told me of one of their 13 year old friends who was groomed by an online predator and was given hormone drugs to become a boy. Sadly, her parents did not know about. The parents were going through a divorce at the time because the father was molesting the girl and her sister. We live in an area were stories like that are common, fathers molesting their children. The trauma either causes the girls to want to become boys or take drugs.
If you have never been through the grinder on this, you wouldn’t know:
1. That parents can have their parental rights revoked if they push too hard against it.
2. The system is rigged for affirmation, not a cure.
3. The therapists that specialize in GD push affirmation, not cure.
4. Some gender clinics will not be truthful with parents. I pushed - HARD - and caught them shoveling crap when my own child went through this.
5. There are several medical conditions that can cause GD. Some are curable, some are not. My kid ultimately fell into the not curable category after 3 years and thousands spent on doctors and tests. Ironically, they refused to do the ACTH test when I asked for it; if they had, we could have done something. By the time they actually did do it, the damage was done. Her adrenal receptors were already conditioned to recognize free floating adrenal androgens as testosterone and her body was developing like a boy during puberty.
Parents are just more meat for the grinder.
And FYI, the stuff they are pushing is antithetical to actual studies and science.
Seriously, if I were to write an article on it, it would be 4 parts long and many thousands of words.
I know this will sound strange to people who see past the curtain...
But there are people who really believe the “experts”
My father was one of those .. collage degree .... taught to trust the “experts”
We had many a talk. He could not understand how I could second guess a “professional”. He just could not get past the indoctrination.
I don't know if that's the case here. But the parents may have been desperate to do the right thing for their daughter... they may be victims here to.
Academia has placed some strong chains on the minds of many.
Remember this was 5 years ago ... it wasn't as clear cut, the info was hidden. ....

Or at least that's what my dad said before he got the covid jab
he died 2 weeks later ...
Soon it will be a crime in California for parents to stand in the way of this stuff.
