Just came across this. Cadillac is making a $300,000+ electric car (EV). The models must be custom ordered and there are several models to choose from. I'm no fan of EV and this car has average performance at best, but the real news is that Caddy is making a $300k car, at a minimum.

This price range supports the idea that the elite do not want people driving on their roadways, and only the elite will have such things as cars.

Meh. I’ll look into this $300,000 Cadillac in 10 years. When it’ll be worth $30,000.

If even that.

I understand from a Cadillac salesman that there is considerable pushback from Cadillac customers regarding Cadillacs all electric plans.

But my 2016 CTS-V recharges in about 5 minutes, goes 200 MPH and has a 300-400 mile range between recharging the fuel cell. It is only $150K as equipped...

If I won $20 million in the lottery I'd buy a Porsche Panamera (gasoline). Until then I'll be happy with my comfortable, well equipped, diesel sedan. A $300,000 car? Never...even if I was worth $20 million!

And a used one will be worth $75,000 in five years.

LOL...some fine snark in the photo captions...
The Celestiq has a floor-mounted battery pack...Cadillac claims the battery will regain 78 miles of range in 10 minutes. That's enough time for a bathroom break, provided you didn't recently eat at Taco Bell.

"..Celestiqs that turn heads today and and years from now when the cars turn up at future Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance LANDFILLS."

Sure, a Caddy is going to turn up at PB Concours - with faded plastic parts and trim pieces dropping off when you open the doors.

It used to be there was nothing prettier than a brand-new Cadillac, and nothing uglier than a 3-year-old one. Nowadays, the only thing uglier than a brand new Caddy is one that isn't brand new.

Grill appears to be made of the same material as the “carbon fiber” shift knobs at AutoZone.

Never liked all the angles on the recent Caddy models, they look like Batmobiles.

Or, you could have gotten this V-16 for a bit over $8,000:

I’d never spend that on a car.

There just aren’t enough stupid people to pay $300k for an electric car.

The should have gone with twin turbo v-12 and 950HP.
