I hear you get reeeeeeaaaaally hungry.
My experience: First 24 hours are easy. Second 24 hours are pretty difficult, especially with bouts of gassy diarrhea.
After that, one can go as long as one can stand to.
This poster is down 90 lbs in 7 months by going 23 hours without calories, 1 hour with. Combined with low carb / zero sugar / zero artificial sweeteners / zero seed oils. Occasional 48 hour fasts. Very little exercise, just normal life activities. Anyone can do it this way, almost guaranteed. For me, 16:8 and even 20:4 did not accomplish much. Nor did low carb without intermittent fasting. But low carb combined with 23:1 seems to be foolproof and once you get your head around it and get used to it, not difficult. Good luck.

Wow so many great comments.
I’ve thought about getting the test strips. It’s a good idea.
Dam I wish I didn’t love carbs so much—bread, pasta, grains. 😥
Thanks for all the info, sound like my son in laws diet, a Ketone diet.
And to the good person that lost 90 pounds…that’s an accomplishment!
You ate nothing M-F regularly for 2 years?
Yes, but not as often as I like. Two members of my family are dairy farmers, but they live 45 and 60 minutes away. That’s not exactly as convenient as going to the grocery store.
The entire bit on whole milk is what kicked off the changes that I made in eating. I noticed that I was satisfied by drinking about half the amount of whole milk than 2% milk. That increased my fat consumption a little, but decreased my calorie consumption. I applied the same idea to other things. The key is to find the things that satisfy you with minimal consumption. Stay away from things that do not satisfy.
Here’s a good one that doesn’t satisfy me. Last week I bought a 2 liter bottle of Coke to have with some homemade pizza. For some reason, I love Coke with pizza, not beer or wine. A day or two after the pizza I was thirsty. I reached for the leftover Coke. My thirst was not quenched. It’s the corn syrup in Coke - highly processed - keeps me thirsty I think. Coke doesn’t satisfy my thirst. It satisfies my taste. Big difference. So selections of food and drink are to satisfy hunger and thirst with the least amount of consumption. I also think our bodies crave certain foods because they contain a needed nutrient.
I’ve been doing some intermittent fasting along with a No Sugar No Grains diet. I don’t eat anything before around 11 AM, sometimes much later, and then eat two meals and some light snacks for the next 12 hours.
Down 80 pounds over 18 months.
Thanks - very informative.
Question: Can I have a drink or two? Obviously not beer, but perhaps something?
I have watched many of the Dr. Jamnadas videos. Started on OneMealA Day in mid-December.
Very encouraged with the results. I have become something of an evangelist for OMAD and have a few “converts”. LOL
If you read the comments section of Dr Jamnadas youtube you will see a lot of people have been helped by following his advice.
BTW - one can also save time AND money with Intermittent Fasting. Very powerful way to have a better life.
FYI, I am 62 and because my wife insists on feeding me and makes me a lunch everyday I am about 10-15 pounds over what I should be. However, when I decide to lose the extra 10-15 pounds I just go back to eating the way I did when I was single, ONCE A DAY, Just Dinner and in 3 weeks the extra weight is gone.

Tirzepatide (mounjaro) will likely be approved for weight loss drug in the near future. Once a week dosing weight drops off like a rock. Little appetite. Loss of cravings apparently. The holy grail medication seems to be discovered
Very similar to our lifestyle/schedule.
Not for weight loss, although we both have lost a few pounds, since beginning this way of living....but, hubs’ arthritis and autoimmune issues have all but disappeared, PTL!!
He’s off the meds he WAS taking for those issues. Hallelujah!
Healthy living, including being outdoors, exercise...beats having to be dependent on BigPharma/pills, any day.
I understand some of these new ‘diet fad’ meds are required to be on, for life. I think it was Charles Barkley, who recently mentioned this, for whatever med he’s taking. I think it’s the latest ‘celeb’ pill/med.
80 pounds....that is great! Congrats and keep up the great work.
I never put the wine and chocolate down, just the food and it works for me!!
offer it to Jesus Christ as a reparation for the sins of the world.
