Garth Brooks has defended his decision to sell Bud Light in his Nashville bar after some fans said they would no longer listen to his music.
The country music legend, 61, acknowledged his plans to stock the beer, which has been boycotted over a tie-up with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney, caused 'quite a little bit of a stir'.
But Brooks repeated his commitment to 'inclusiveness' and added that if the beer doesn't sell, he'll take 'action'.
The controversy unfolded last Wednesday when Brooks told Billboard his Nashville bar, Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk, will sell 'every brand of beer'. He also said 'if you're an a**hole, there are plenty of other places' to drink.
Some fans took issue with the decision and even said they'd boycott his music.
Brooks addressed the controversy at the opening of his Inside Studio G show on Monday night.
'Let's address two things on it,' he said. 'One is diversity, inclusiveness. That's me, it's always been me. We got the same kind of thing on We Shall Be Free, people wanted to burn our stuff. I get it, everybody has got their opinions.'
He was referencing his 1992 track We Shall Be Free, which some country radio stations refused to play at the time because of its progressive themes. The song included the lines 'when we're free to love anyone we choose... then we shall be free'.
Brooks added: 'Inclusiveness is always going to be me. I think diversity is the answer to the problems that are here and the answer to the problems that are coming. So I love diversity, all included, all are welcome.
'I understand that might not be other people's opinions, but that's okay, man. They have their opinions, they have their beliefs, I have mine.

I’m not into country music. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the younger generation of country fans like Garth, thinking he’s “old school” (in the eyes of millennials). Maybe Garth sees that and is afraid to alienate a younger audience and their many years of concert ticket purchases and bar spending. Maybe he thinks he’s protecting his brand by saying he’s with the millennials and their values.
No...taking advantage of the gay position of choice.
Well, that about takes care of that! Shout out for diversity along with serving BudLite and calling your customers aholes....this shouldn’t take long lol.
Brooks is a woke ahole
But he did not cancel the day before Trump’s inauguration
“’One is diversity, inclusiveness”
Spoken like a true brainwashed useful idiot marxist.
Recall that the CWA featured a transgendered guy prominently. Woke poison has seeped into the CW music business. Brooks could have said that he would stock Bud light and left it at that. But no, he had to make Bud Lite a symbol of diversity.
Boycotting Bud Lite is easy if you imagine Mulvaney washing down a full load with a Bud. Ew
Support for gay rights
In a 1999 interview with George, Brooks said, "But if you're in love, you've got to follow your heart and trust that God will explain to us why we sometimes fall in love with people of the same sex."
Lyrics to his song, "We Shall Be Free", features the line, "When we're free to love anyone we choose," which has been interpreted as a reference to same-sex relationships.
Brooks won a 1993 GLAAD Media Award for the song.
In 2000, Brooks appeared at the Equality Rocks benefit concert for gay rights. He sang a duet with openly gay singer George Michael.
Brooks' half-sister, Betsy Smittle, who died in 2013, was a well-known musician – releasing her own album Rough Around the Edges (as Betsy) and part of Brooks' band for some years. She also worked with the late country star Gus Hardin and other musicians in Tulsa. Smittle was a lesbian, and Brooks has credited her with some of the inspiration for his support for same-sex marriage.
Brooks does not like diversity- he likes people in ,ow places- he despises anyone that doesn’t coddle and co fort people in low places as evidenced by him calling his listeners a-holes who oppose lgbtq
Leave Garth Alone! He had three daughters and his wife divorced him because he kept cheating. And now it looks like Trisha Yearwood might divorce him too. Leave Garth Alone!
Young people are not into Garth Brooks at all and neither are old folks. He’s a has been. I just went to Spotify and checked monthly listeners for Brooks. It’s a little over 700k. That’s barely registering on Spotify, not even in the top 1,000 artists.
🎼There’s a tear in my beer,
And a queer on my rear...”
Be very careful when you are at standing at the bar and a gay may asks if he can push in your stool...
The people that go to Nashville and hang out on Lower Broadway are all young kids. Nashville is the number one destination for Batchlorette Parties. If you go there now, you will see groups of young girls walking around with sashes on saying: bride & bridesmaids. They are typically hammered before dinner.
The large amount of drunken bridesmaids brings in all the young guys trying to get lucky.
It is a great place for BBQ. A destination place to see a concert at Nissan Stadium. Where the Titans play. Also, the arena where the Predators hockey team is right up the hill from all the bars.
The Country Music Hall of Fame is right around the corner. So, everything is walking distance from most of the hotels.
Brokeback Mountain will be playing on a continuous loop in Garth’s bar.
Thank you. Not sure where I got that. He did withdraw after he agreed to do it. He did show up for Traitor Joe’s.
Looks like a clown with that ten gallon fireman’s hat.
If Brooks wants to glorify the filthy degenerate homosexual agenda (”squeal like a pig” Deliverance 1972 film) then let him live off of their proceeds. How many queers go to his shows and purchase his albums? Live by the sword, die by the sword. /spit
Best thing he ever did wasnthe SNL camp fire skit
He has a sister that is a lesbian. Maybe it is a family thing.
Cute how The Mail left out the fact that Brooks called us a-holes.
Having a gay family member is a key factor in making someone liberal. One of the reasons they are encouraging it so much.
