I once asked a Brit why they tended to support the mohamidians over the Jews. He gave me a confused look and said, "But the Jews don't need our support."

The mohamidians are uncouth disorganized barbarians (who happen to have a bunch of valuable stuff) and so they need to be supported against the civilized and got a working culture Jews.

I sat there with my mouth open and said that had to be the dumbest reason for supporting someone I had ever heard.

Not just the British: Americans do exactly the same thing. We all have sympathy for the underdog, and do not realize that cultures which admire the strong and despise the underdog use our sympathy against us.

The worst is when the “underdogs” go to war with us: we hold back so they won’t be outclassed by our superior military strengths. This is why we lose wars or “military actions,” as the case may be.
