Transgender adults in Florida are blindsided that a new law also limits their access to health care

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Debate surrounding Florida’s new restrictions on gender-affirming care focused largely on transgender children. But a new law that Republican presidential candidate and Gov. Ron DeSantis signed last month also made it difficult – even impossible – for many transgender adults to get treatment.

Eli and Lucas, trans men who are a couple, followed the discussions in the Legislature, where Democrats warned that trans children would be more prone to suicide under a ban on gender-affirming care for minors and Republicans responded with misplaced tales of mutilated kids. Eli said he and his partner felt “blindsided” when they discovered the bill contained language that would also disrupt their lives.

“There was no communication. … Nobody was really talking about it in our circles,” said Eli, 29.

Like many transgender adults in Florida, he and Lucas are now facing tough choices, including whether to uproot their lives so that they can continue to access gender-confirming care. Clinics are also trying to figure out how to operate under regulations that have made Florida a test case for restrictions on adults.

Lucas, 26, lost his access to treatment when the Orlando clinic that prescribed him hormone replacement therapy stopped providing gender-affirming care altogether. The couple also worries about staying in a state that this year enacted several other bills targeting the LGBTQ+ community.

“My entire life is here. All my friends, my family. I just got a promotion at my job, which I’m probably not to be able to keep,” Lucas, who works in a financial aid office at a college, said. “I’m losing everything except Eli and my pets moving out of here. So this was not a decision that I took lightly at all.”

If you want to chop off your otherwise healthy wang I shouldn’t have to pay for it any more than if you wanted to chop off your otherwise healthy arm.

How many of these freaks are there???

What percentage of our tax/health care money is going to treat what percentage of the population?

It is most likely a tiny fraction, yet it gets a huge majority of attention.

First, get them mental health. When their delusions are fixed, their physical health will get better.

Body mutilation is “health care.” Rejecting the sex you were born as is “gender affirming.” Abortion is “reproductive care.” It just never ends.

"...where Democrats warned that trans children would be more prone to suicide under a ban on gender-affirming care for minors..."

That is a malicious lie the democrats keep peddling. It is literally the exact opposite and the increase in suicide for those who purse trans care has been very significant, HUGE as a matter of fact. Gender affirming kills people, it causes deep psychosis and depression and is easily a major contributor of suicide for those who pursue it.

Now let’s have an article by the same authors decrying the problems of homosexuals in California who can’t get the conversation therapy that they desperately want because California has banned it.

This couple is very confused. They evidently are two lesbian woman who think that they are two homosexual men.

Debate surrounding Florida’s new restrictions on gender-affirming care focused largely on transgender children.

Correction: Debate surrounding Florida’s new restrictions on the sexual mutilation and sterilization of children is focused largely on potentially future mutilated children...

The gender affirming care they are entitled to is psychological therapy to teach them there are boys and girls, they were born as one or the other and that lopping off their junk is an unnatural solution to their identity crisis.

A parent that can look at their child and say that penis or those breasts need to come off should be required to have their’s removed first.

Therapeutic Hormones aren’t that good for you either. There are limits to amounts and duration of treatment. People seem totally ignorant about hormone protocols, and the medical community is solely in it for profit. Corporate America is driving the bus now.

Maybe these freaks will completely deport themselves from the US, or the world in general.

I will not accept the language these freaks and leftists use, nor the lies. Changing the meaning of words is a Marxist tactic. This is cultural/social Marxism. It begins with “assigned sex at birth”. That negates the entire history and prehistory of man. It negates everything science has proven until recent years. It’s also an awkward mouthful. People are born either male or female. Period.

The word transgender is another euphemism. It implies people can change their sex. They can’t. Use 'gender denier' instead of 'transgender'. If you don’t, you are lying.

Gender affirming care is perhaps the worst of the lot. Supposedly, it treats the mental disorder called gender dysphoria. Mental conditions are not affirmed by encouraging the mental condition. Clinically depressed people are not counseled to be more depressed. They are not given drugs to be depressed. They certainly are not given surgeries to make depression permanent. By use the term 'gender affirming care' you are lying and corrupting medicine.

Then there is the whole pronoun business. That quite simply is a tactic to compel speech. Dallas, TX just passed a law compelling speech, requiring the use of gender deniers’ preferred pronouns. New York City and other cities already have similar laws. Compelled speech is not free speech. Personally, I consider it worse than censorship. It is a tactic to make people say things that are not true. Eventually enough people will begin to think it’s true. When that happens it moves on to other things - much more dangerous things.

You can add deadnaming to the list as well. That’s using someone’s legal and given name in place of some fantasy name that reinforces the notion that someone has successfully changed their sex. Beneath it is a lie. It’s one thing for these evil freaks to lie, but a completely different thing to make good people lie against their will.

These are the little games evil plays. If you don’t want to use pronouns because it makes you lie you can use proper names. These evil freaks then compel you to lie by using some made up name.

All of this is pervasive. Government, employers, educators, healthcare, entertainment and the news media all regularly lie in attempt to make you lie. Nearly every institution in America is infected with this. No doubt, there are probably churches that do the same.

I contend that gender denial is not a mental disorder. The tell is how they treat gender deniers by reinforcing, aka affirming, the so-called disorder. Psychiatry is barely a science. If it were, then the prevalence of mental conditions would be declining rather than increasing. This is purely big business with billions of dollars to be made. The people in this business are evil. They destroy lives.

Gender denial is sin. It is evil. It is a condition of one’s soul, not mind. Thusly, it requires spiritual treatment, certainly not the atrocities prescribed by quacks that make it permanent.

But you do pay for it if you have health insurance. Your premiums are priced to pay for other people to mutilate themselves.

Obamacare mandated sex reassignment surgery be in every policy.

Follow the money.

First, get them mental health

Don’t you see? They have received mental health care. The so-called treatment is a regimen of counseling, drugs and genital mutilation that makes their gender denial permanent. Gender denial is not a mental illness. It is a spiritual illness. It is evil.

They are women, not men. You’re right that it’s not health care to give someone opposite sex hormones.

We don’t give anorexics diet pills, do we? Doctors would lose their licenses for allowing that. This should be no different.

There is zero evidence of this assertion being accurate.
