Dis someone shrug?
Because most people are vapid morons?
It would be a pretty miserable ‘shrug’ if you just stayed indoors all the time.
If I am not dateable, I only need to provide for myself. As long as I’m doing that, I’ll be fine.
So, that might mean that I only work part-time and enjoy the rest of the time.
That’s basically what’s going on.
They aren’t staying inside all the time, necessarily. They just aren’t engaging with people. They are attending to their interests because that’s all society expects from them.
Yeah, imagine that, create a gyno-centric culture, and males lose all interest.
Because gaming provides most of the psychological needs without the risk of dating.
Historically, a lot of young men went off prospecting for gold, or became lumberjacks, or went to sea hunting whales or trading with China. Men don’t always fit into “normal society” and some sort of release valve is needed. Colonialism was also useful in this.
Today, most release valves have gone away. Video games in Mom’s basement is the next best thing.
Fine, if that’s what they want. Unlike the queers who force their beliefs on others.
Women’s Libbers can do that to you...
Maybe when you are discriminated against, and blamed for discrimination, you decide enough is enough.
Very interesting observation!
“They are attending to their interests because that’s all society expects from them.”
I think they are looking out for their own interests since our society is taking them for granted. Society can jump off a bridge.
My stepdaughter sometimes does delivery runs for the McDonalds she works at in Japan, and said she has delivered orders to males who (to her) are clearly hikikomori, including a couple males who say pretty directly to leave the food order at the door and they will get in a few minutes.
Not sure about today’s society, but God put us here to serve him and each other. He wants us to have relationships, not be loners.
Making a broad, general assumption of the men involved, this is probably a good thing.
I think that captures my sentimentality much more accurate.
Used to be folks tired of the Society around them joined the Military...
