In matter of fact, Space is not black, and is actually filled with light in every color and wavelength of the spectrum. No matter where one stands and looks from that position, one will be detecting light from every stars and every galaxy going through that spot from every direction and vector.
In other words, that spot, that tiny cubic millimeter of space, is filled with photons and bundles of every color and every wavelength of energy at every second of time. Space isn’t black, it’s bursting with color… just not at an intensity high enough for the human eye to register it.
