The round mound of rebound is less rotund.
On an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” last week, Charles Barkley revealed that he is down over 60 pounds since he started taking the weight-loss drug Mounjaro.
“I started taking this drug called Mounjaro about six months ago,” Barkley said.
“It’s been amazing. My doctor, she is amazing. I know a lot of people take Ozempic, but my doctor prefers Mounjaro. I started at 352, and I’m down to 290.
“It’s been great, I’ve been starting to feel like a human being — not a fat-ass anymore. I want to lose — I can’t get to my playing weight, which was 250, but I’m gonna get to 270. My doctor told me, ‘There’s a lot of fat young people. There aren’t a lot of fat old people. They’re all dead!'”
Barkley, in his own special tone, stated matter-of-factly that he was on this weight loss journey because he wanted to remain alive.
“I gained a lot of weight when I got my new hips, and I was like, ‘Yo man, I want to be here,'” Barkley continued.
“I’m working out. I’m taking my shot once a week. Like I said, I’m gonna get down to 270.
“Man, I want to be here — I don’t want to leave all my money to my freeloading-ass family!”

Getting 7 boosters should help.
You can get coupons to help with copays but you have to have a diabetes diagnosis.

Depends on your insurance plan. My copay is $5 per a month’s prescription (no deductible). I’ve been taking it for a little over a year, once a week and have lost about 10 pounds, which I did not need to lose, I’m diabetic, not over weight.
The good news is that my A1C stays at 6.0 to 6.5, An unheard of figure prior to taking it. The bad side is that I sometimes have to force myself to eat to keep my sugar level up to normal. That may sound enviable to some but believe me, it’s not.
Oh Lordy - LOL!
Hooo, boy! :-)
But we can't use anything but an mRNA for Covid?
I got the same results by undergoing chemo and radiation. Not that I’d recommend it..

Before using Mounjaro

If you take birth control pills by mouth, talk to your healthcare provider before you use Mounjaro. Birth control pills may not work as well while using Mounjaro. Your healthcare provider may recommend another type of birth control for 4 weeks after you start Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each increase in your dose of Mounjaro.
Review these questions with your healthcare provider:
Do you have other medical conditions, including problems with your pancreas or kidneys, or severe problems with your stomach, such as slowed emptying of your stomach (gastroparesis) or problems digesting food?
Do you take other diabetes medicines, such as insulin or sulfonylureas?
Do you have a history of diabetic retinopathy?
Are you pregnant, plan to become pregnant, breastfeeding, or plan to breastfeed? It is not known if Mounjaro will harm your unborn baby or pass into your breast milk.
Do you take any other prescription medicines or over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, or herbal supplements?
LOL!
From what I’ve read, the weight you lose on these drugs is about 30% muscle. When you stop taking it, you will gain the weight back, mostly replacing the muscle you lost with more fat. Time restricted eating works and you can keep the weight off.
Geez...the only thing missing is “Uncontrollable greasy discharge”!
I just hit the century mark, though the real reason I take it is my blood sugar no longer fluctuates between an A1C of 8 to 15 with no rhyme or reason. I worry about the impact on blood sugar of those that will use it for weight loss. Even with it on board, it is still work. Last I saw, $1025 for four weekly doses... before insurance.
Getting my insurance to cover it was a battle and I have diabetes. You had to have tried two of three alternatives first.
Funny about #2 - I just had an anal fissure fixed from constant constipation.
How much does Mounjaro cost?
A lot more than a healthy diet and exercise :-)
Accelerated aging....is another one, per articles I saw, when trying to find pics of Barkley.
He looks old/tired, in one of the recent pics I saw.
TMI 😱
.
Congratulations !
Wow!
