Aisle after aisle in supermarkets across the nation appears to confirm that Bud Light is far from being the flavor of the week.
On what is considered by many Americans to be the unofficial start to summer, instead of shelves looking depleted from a Memorial Day weekend of partying and drinking, rows of store shelves sat packed with Bud Light and Budweiser in posts shared on social media.
Following the backlash over the use of transgender influence Dylan Mulvaney by parent company Anheuser-Busch to promote Bud Lights, the company has seen its market value tank.
The hit has been anecdotal and in actual sales, which have fallen 26 percent since the backlash started in early April.
The controversy left social media users documenting the company's carnage in real-time and the dramatic effect it is having on their sales.

The boyfriend’s dad and I are friends and about the same age. There were only 6 of us at the time and rest piled on, including the GF.
I don’t remember exactly what was said, I’ve slept since then.
About 2 weeks ago I saw him carrying a case of Coors home and I knew he usually drank Bud Lite, I remarked that he got rid of the gay beer and he gave me the thumbs up.

My local liquor store had six packs of Bud priced at $4 a pop. It didnt look like they were moving.
Supposedly Bud Light has rice or some kind of rice product or rice derivative as part of its brewing recipe that maybe reduces the total calories per serving, but has an unavoidably negative effect on the taste of the beer? Not sure how it works.
I am generally not a beer drinker (or wine) for the taste of it, so I have never developed a palate for those things. There are mixed drinks I greatly enjoy, but not straight up.
Never developed a taste for any hard liquor straight up. But beer, wine, and liquor, I enjoyed the effects greatly!
LOL, my wife and I were on a road trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway some years back, and saw a winery with tastings going on, so we stopped in.
Minutes after we got there and began tasting, I wanted to leave...the wine tasted fine, but to my palate, they pretty much tasted all the same no matter how hard I tried to discern the boquet, described as “nutty” or “fruit-like”...it all tasted the same to me!
I felt like a total fraud sitting there...:)

The BL corporate drones are hoping the last weekend was Peak Boycott and that things will slowly return to normal as the summer goes on. I hope they have a Plan B. As many people have pointed out, this isn’t a boycott, it’s a brand switch. Nobody is giving up beer in order to make a point. If they were I could see cause for BL’s optimism, but they aren’t.
Budweiser itself uses some ‘brewer’s rice’ (different from typical food rice) to make a lighter flavored, clearer beer, a practice adopted from Europe.
I’ve never heard that the goal was reducing calories. No likely a historical concern until recent decades.

The person would pour and say “This one has a boquet of lilacs and cherries!” and I would sip it with a puzzled look on my face, thinking it had a boquet of dirty socks and a 55 gallon drum holding picnic trash on a Monday after the Sunday picnics!

Boycott all Imbev products. Starve them. Boycott MLB. Boycot Target, though I never go there. Screw them. OH but AB is making their Harley Davidson partnership to try resurrection their crap. Boycott HD.
If the product is still on grocery shelves it’s bc AB is paying for the space. Still, grocers don’t like static inventory. I’d raise the rent.
