This sort of thing has been happening for a long, long time now, since way before TikTok. Idiots are going to inhale just about anything that’s in an aerosol can, and some will die from it. But the answer, of course, is to take useful and convenient products away from people who aren’t going to try to get high from sniffing them.

Morons will also inhale the fumes of practically any hydrocarbon compound to get high, even if the substance isn’t in an aerosol can. Plain old gasoline will work. It is not possible to do away with every chemical that somebody might conceivably misuse.

TikTok is evil, and it comes to us courtesy of the CCP.
Teenagers are just starting to think clearly and are vulnerable to this nonsense.

Unless the parents are drunks or drug addicts, it’s senseless to place blame on them. Mine never had to tell me not to do stupid, dangerous things. Presumably these young people have a brain and are old enough to know what risky behavior is.

Parents allowed the girl to be on Tiktok. Embrace the suck, Mom and Dad.

“Unless the parents are drunks or drug addicts, it’s senseless to place blame on them.”

They weren’t monitoring what the kid was doing online. It isn’t senseless to place most of the blame on them.

Seems his warning is a little too late. If he was a good father, he would have warned her not to suck on aerosol containers.

I guess we’ll just have to ban all these dangerous aerosol products then.

Indeed! We need to ban every household product that is dangerous--drain cleaning fluid, radiator coolant, paint thinner, etc. We need to do it for the children.

From what I read, there a domestic, non-destrictive Tik tok in China geared to teaching kids, party politics, etc, and it’s policed by the CCP.

Kids elsewhere get the wide open Tik tok.

Don't inhale, drink, eat or inject anything into your body that's not supposed to be there.
Easy.
As of everything else, moderation is key, don't take any more than your body can make good use of.

I thinks it’s unfair to say “parents are too busy” in a dismissive way without knowing the facts. To maintain anything resembling a middle-class lifestyle reduces the amount of time available for traditional child rearing. That, plus the fact that the explosion of social media poison makes naturally boneheaded teens more like to pursue life-threatening behavior.

If “middle class lifestyle” is more important than looking after your kids (who gave the kid a phone or computers), this is Darwin is action.

My son’s wo girls and daughter’s three boys do not get to have or use cell phones or TV while they live in their parents’ house.

I remember those who sniffed airplane glue. You could buy it right off the shelf. Then suddenly you had to ask for it.
I had lots of model ships and planes but never cared to sniff the stuff myself.

He is to blame for allowing his progeny to have a smart phone and not paying attention to and imparting parental wisdom. I bet there is no religion in that household and not much common sense much less wisdom.

Parents shouldn't let their children have smartphones until they're old enough to get jobs as teenagers and pay for it themselves (but monitor their use). Give them flip phones instead.

I remember a fellow touting the great high from huffing gasoline. Just pull the cap off and stick your nose in the filler hole. Really cheap high! An old friend worked in the fiberglass boat factories in St Petersburg in the 70s and smoked a lot of dope, too. Last time I saw him he was a highly payed detail specialist but could not put a three word sentence together. He was picked up at his house by a company driver in the AM and taken to the appropriate dock to do the final detail work then taken home at the end of the work day. Lots of guys scrambled their brains working in the boat factories.

The problem with this strain of Darwinism is that it doesn’t happen in large enough numbers.
