I thinks it’s unfair to say “parents are too busy” in a dismissive way without knowing the facts. To maintain anything resembling a middle-class lifestyle reduces the amount of time available for traditional child rearing. That, plus the fact that the explosion of social media poison makes naturally boneheaded teens more like to pursue life-threatening behavior.
If “middle class lifestyle” is more important than looking after your kids (who gave the kid a phone or computers), this is Darwin is action.
