Good morning fellow Freepers.
I wanted to take this opportunity to pick your brains.
I am looking for suggestions on where to shop for prepper supplies. Most websites want to sell you a huge bucket of stuff, most of which I'd probably never use. What I am looking for instead is a website (besides Amazon of course) where I could go to in order to purchase what I want to acquire. For instance, I can't find any place that will sell individual packets of dried milk, or crackers, stuff like that.
The reason I am asking for help is because I am stocking up while trying not to go overboard. I know what I want, I just can't find a place to go to shop for stuff that I want.
Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you.
The truth hurts.
Buy what you can, diy your portions.
Oatmeal is highly nutritious for a grain and keeps well. I put mine in 1/2 gallon canning jars.
Don’t forget salt. It’s essential for survival and cheap enough at places like Wal-Mart.
And of course, various baking flours are good also (to bake/cook with).
Pack all in airtight plastic bags and put inside of 5 gallon plastic buckets with airtight lids.
Go for as late an expiration date as you can find on all of these things.
Good Luck!
****I read that civilians who were caught up in the Kosovo War valued Dinty Moore beef stew above all else.****
Winco in your area may have Dinty Moore beef stew in 20 oz cans for $1.98 right now.
.
But only for 3.7 milliseconds!
Of course, you could survive (the attack, or whatever) and it may hurt for decades.
And you may not have your soul 'Right' with God, so it may 'hurt' for eternity.
So always select your options wisely.
Here’s a list of sources for generic meds, no Rx required, sourced from India. (I bought a full range of antibiotics and other generic meds, including my regular heart stuff, from ReynoldMeds. Took 20 days to arrive, cheap and easy.)

Just google it. If you want help preparing then you need to describe your situation and your wants and plans, and goals, limits, and no-goes.
This is one of the blogs that I consider extremely worthwhile. She dosen’t sell anything, except her how-to and where-to-find books. Very interesting.

I have found these guys to have reasonable prices and good quality stuff:
https://www.stealthangelsurvival.com/
I get stuff from Emergency Essentials: https://beprepared.com
They often have sales.
Also Costco has freeze dried products.
“Do you recall what kind of top that can had?”
they were non-pull-tab cans ...
Texas winemakers produce some really great wine, at a reasonable price. I admit to going more upscale, as in buying $25-$30 bottles, lol. But when I want a decent Riesling, I go to the liquor store and buy a bottle of Piesporter Spatlese, which runs between 9-12 bucks a bottle.
For cooking when power's out, I'll hook up my Traeger to the generator, too.
That’s what I’ve been doing, but all I get are the companies that want to sell buckets of food for $300 or more, not a website where I can pick and choose what I want.
Emergency Essentials sells individual cans and buckets.

Are you just wanting a couple of weeks of food and water, or what?
Is this stuff that you don’t anticipate ever using and just want to put away for 30 years ‘just in case’?
Be sure and add a bar of soap and hair brush , may surprise you may get in return ;)
I have enough toiletries and medical items to last me, and I've started building up food supplies. I need to invest in off grid cooking items like a butane/propane stove, a cooking stove that I can burn wood in, and electronic items like rechargeable batteries, an emergency radio and flashlights, but I got a line on those types of items.
What I'm looking for, in the way food items, is a place to order items that resembles a food store, but with items that will last longer than the 2-3 month shelf life of most items in your local grocery store. I don't want to purchase a huge bucket of items, most of which I will probably never use. I want to hand pick what I get, and how much.
I will just order from amazon when i need something
