Give it up, kid: You are foundering.

And what else would I expect from a cognitively impaired lazy old coot such as yourself. You of course make no attempt to challenge anything of substance because it is a very accurate assessment. Instead, you attack the source with irrelevant smears from over 20 years ago. And you include more of your idiotic yet strangely humorous insults against me. What a hoot!

I do appreciate your link that said the Russians were offering big discounts to Indonesia's minister of tourism, Sandiaga Uno. It turned out however that this was either a used car sales type tactic or just meant to keep the West from hounding Indonesia because the crude sold by the Russians at discount prices had a 30% under the table type surcharge added. Would you buy a used car from Putin?

“The Russian economy is now slated by the IMF's latest economic outlook to outperform Britain and Germany this year. Russia posted a record current account surplus of $227 billion in 2022, up 86% from 2021”

Thank God that despite my advancing years, unlike you I am still able to argue like an adult.

“You of course make no attempt to challenge anything of substance because it is a very accurate assessment.”

What substance? If your source is a proven liar, and widely discredited; and what he says cannot be independently verified by any objective means, then his argument is not deserving of any credence.

“I do appreciate your link that said the Russians were offering big discounts to Indonesia’s minister of tourism, Sandiaga Uno. It turned out however that this was either a used car sales type tactic or just meant to keep the West from hounding Indonesia because the crude sold by the Russians at discount prices had a 30% under the table type surcharge added.”

Russia’s attempt to recoup its losses is not going well.
It relied primarily on China and India to buy its exports — especially oil — but that has not recouped what Russia has lost; and, BTW, that market is actually slowing down.

Here are some articles on Russia’s economic standing (just highlight the title and put it in your search engine):

“Thank God that despite my advancing years, unlike you I am still able to argue like an adult.”

In your dreams.

You are actually one of those rare people of whom it can be said, that whenever you speak, something is subtracted from the sum total of human knowledge. In other words, you are a net negative on the human experience.

So all five of your links are from the same source? And the other time you sent me a link to supposedly proving Russia was in poor shape it was from the same source as well.

You must be a genius. I can provide you dozens of links all from different sources that show that Russia made 50% more on their exports in 2022 than they did in 2021. And 2023 is the same story. But I don't want to spoil your evening. Oh, what the hell.

I probably shouldn't tell you, but your attempts to insult me in every post are comical but only confirm that you have a mental problem. The clinical issue that I assume you are suffering from is known as the Dunning-Kruger effect. You may not be able to find the definition at Business Insider, the only website you seem to go to.

Oh, I am sorry I didn't mean to call your search suggestions links. You are far too lazy and ignorant to actually provide links.

Links? I don't need to provide no stinking links.

“So all five of your links are from the same source?”

Do you have a problem with Business Insider? Its articles are similar to many others (I posted the links to Business Insider simply for convenience).

So, you don’t like BI? Well, here is a more eclectic sampling (again, just highlight the title and enter it in your search engine):

“You are far too lazy and ignorant to actually provide links.”

What the hell is the difference? Either the https or the article’s title can be put in your search engine with the same result.

You argue like a small child.

You argue like a small child.

I understand that you aspire to be an online bully, and part of why I have helped keep this conversation going is to find out what type of lame insult that you will try to use next. Unfortunately, you have not come up with even one original or fresh insult in our entire conversation.

The most pathetic insult was the one from post 82, "You are actually one of those rare people of whom it can be said, that whenever you speak, something is subtracted from the sum total of human knowledge." How many times has that insult been used around here? It came from the 1995 movie Billy Madison and you used it without even having the decency to use it in its correct context.

IAWARD YOU NOPOINTS AROUND AND MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOURSOUL!

Do you have a problem with Business Insider?

For goodness sakes I just gave you a business insider link in in post #83 just before the one with the bandito.

What the hell is the difference? Either the https or the article's title can be put in your search engine with the same result.

So you have been here over 20 years and you have no idea what the difference is between a search suggestion and a link? It is pretty obvious that you never bothered to learn any html, but not knowing the difference between a link and a search suggestion???

A link belongs in an address bar, and a search suggestion belongs in search box. If you really don't know the difference between the two you should really try boning up a little.

My byline says, "Irritating people are the grit from which we fashion our pearl. I provide the grit. You're Welcome." I typically learn more from the people that I disagree with than those that have the same beliefs that I do. And I am more than willing to admit when I have been wrong if it is demonstrated to me in a convincing manner.

Looking through your posting history reveals someone who is extremely intolerant of anyone who disagrees with you even if they have tiptoed around whatever subject is being discussed. It is very sad, not for the ones who have attempted to have discussions with you, but for you. You seem to be a very immature person with little hope of ever improving. I can only imagine what your personal life has been like.

Good luck my friend. I wish you the best and am sorry that this discussion went wrong and both of us have wasted our time.

Either the https or the article's title can be put in your search engine with the same result.

Instead of just scolding, I wanted to tell you the difference between a link and a search suggestion...

Have you ever noticed that all you have to do is click on a properly formatted link and it takes you directly to the article? You don't have to go to a search engine and get a bunch of unrelated crap back.

If you need help posting a link... I will help you. Just freepmail me.

“How many times has that insult been used around here? It came from the 1995 movie Billy Madison and you used it without even having the decency to use it in its correct context.”

Not only have I never seen the movie, I have never heard of it. In any event, that quote goes back more than a hundred years, when then SOTH Thomas Brackett Reed, a Republican, said it about the Democrats. And, since you argue like a Democrat, it immediately came to mind.

“So you have been here over 20 years and you have no idea what the difference is between a search suggestion and a link?”

Again, you rush to judgment and jump to conclusions, another trait of a Democrat. The simple fact is, both an https address and a headlining caption from an article will take you to the article; one goes in the address bar and the other goes in the search bar. In fact, if one puts the https in the search bar it will pull up the article. So, you see, it really doesn’t matter which route you choose, as they will both take you to the same place.

You founder because your arguments are driven by emotion rather than reason. The above is a case in point: You got the fantods differing over something that is, really, not only inconsequential, but nonsensical.

“Looking through your posting history reveals someone who is extremely intolerant of anyone who disagrees with you even if they have tiptoed around whatever subject is being discussed.”

If someone takes a position opposite mine, without rancor, I respond in kind. However, once someone introduces rancor, I will respond accordingly thereafter. It’s like Democrats and Republicans: Dems trash Republicans as a matter of course; but Republicans mistakenly take the position that if they just “turn the other cheek,” and attempt civility, the Dems will respond similarly. But, Dems are not like that; Dems will see such civility as weakness and will be encouraged to continue their attacks, and maybe even ratchet them up. The country would be better off if the Republicans fought the Dems with the same vigor and vinegar with which the Dems fight them.

“You seem to be a very immature person with little hope of ever improving. I can only imagine what your personal life has been like.”

You’re talking to the mirror, kid.

“Good luck my friend. I wish you the best and am sorry that this discussion went wrong and both of us have wasted our time.”

Time is only wasted if one does not use it. And, if one does not use it, one will never know how it might have turned out. And the saddest thing a person can ask of himself, or herself, at the very end of their life, begins with, “If only...” or “What if...?” And I made a promise to myself — many, many years ago, as a young man — that at the end of my days I would never have to ask myself such a question.

I know how to post a link.

However, if I’m going to post a comment that is more than a couple sentences, and with links, I usually do it in a Word document, as it is easier for me then dealing with the little box provided by FR and having to scroll up and down, which I find very tedious.

With a Word document, everything is right there in front of me, and I don’t have to scroll up or down, and the document can easily be rearranged, etc. And I just need to copy and paste to the FR comment what I have in that Word document. But when I copy the https of the article and paste it to the Word document it automatically reverts to the headlined caption. But, that’s no big deal because one only has to put it in the search bar and, Voila! The article is at the top of the page.

I do it that way because it is easier for me.

I understand, I only wanted to be helpful if possible.

Yes, I have developed a bunch of shortcuts over the years as well for italicizing, links, pictures, paragraphs etc... I thought if any of them could be helpful to you I would describe some of the ways that I do it.
