TV saying also
He was absolutely the greatest football player of all time.
Yes he’s gone. ESPN announced it during the golf broadcast about thirty minutes ago. RIP Jim Brown.
Yup...heard it.Whenever I think of Jim Brown I think of that concert that Richard Pryor did.
Powerful and fast. He and Earnie Davis started a trend.
I have his football card
“Brown offered public support to Donald Trump after his presidential election in 2016, saying Trump ‘really talks about helping Black people.’”

He still holds the career record for most yards per carry, 5.2.
I’m old enough to remember him. A legend.
One of my few celebrity sightings. Passed him in a stairway at LAX, ca. 1970. Never was a football fan although I knew he was a great player, actually recognized him from movies like 100 Rifles and The Dirty Dozen.
Rest in piece, Jim.
87 years is a very good run for a former pro footballer.
I’ve always heard playing at a professional level for several years can age your body many times faster than the natural rate.
But ESPN mentions his arrest record and history of violence against women. WokESPN has to pile on.
Also one of the greatest lacrosse players of all time.
RIP to my favorite footballer - when he quit so did I quit watching the sport. Also the best mid-field lacrosse player ever.
1936-2023
Close friend of Trump....
My father was a big Cleveland Browns and Jim Brown fan.
As a Cowboys fan, I love Emmitt Smith and Tony “TD” Dorsett!
As a football fan, I loved watching Walter Payton and Barry Sanders break ankles on their cuts and of course, watching Earl Campbell BOWL OVER or CARRY 2 or 3 defenders.
But Jim Brown was a MAN among boys considering he averaged 102 yards per game for his career, and never missed a game in all nine years in the league! And that was in a time when the NFL was a run-happy league...everyone was LOOKING for a run 90% of the time and still couldn’t do much about Jim Brown!
I am willing to argue that, as of today, Jim Brown is the GOAT running back of the NFL - PERIOD!
My Uncle who played for the Cardinals, Giants and Rams as a Defensive Back from the mid 50’s to mid 60’s surely had nightmares when Clevland was on the schedule.
