I’m afraid we will be seeing much more of this as time goes by. The home health nurse I mentioned said some of her elderly patients that were coerced into taking the vax now have Guillain-Barré syndrome. She was glad neither of us took it.

I would never attempt to force or trick anybody into taking the vax, even if I believed in it. My husband is a lot older than me and when the vax first came out, he asked me to call and get him on the list since his age group came first. I did. He kept asking me if I was going to get it and I told him no and I told him why. All of his friends on the radio kept telling him they weren’t taking it.

The day they called to set up his appointment, he told them he changed his mind.

All you can do it tell them. If you try to force them, they are more determined to do it. Those that are figuring out what they did to themselves are losing their minds. Most will never admit it.

I told family what I thought and why I wouldn’t take it. Taking it or not was their decision. I wasn’t starting a family war over it.

There was always the thought at the back of my mind, “what if I’m wrong?” If I made a person’s life miserable over the vax and they didn’t take it just to shut me up, how would I feel if they died from Covid?

This was a personal medical decision. Most people only had one side of the science. People like us had the other side. It was up to them to decide which side to believe. Unfortunately, too many decided to believe the science because everybody grew up to believe that doctors would never do anything to hurt them.

All we can be at this point is a support system.

Wouldn’t it be great if everyone respected adult’s right to make their own decisions respecting their personal healthcare. Hopefully explaining how we came to our choices would encourage others to research but regardless it is their life. Your comment was so reflective of that respect. Thank you for sharing.

My brother took the J&J vax and now has sciatica issues. It’s hard to say if the vax caused it, but sciatica is on the list of side effects. He did not have the issue pre-vax. He has already had two pain injections and it got better after the second one, but I don’t think he’s out of the woods yet. I’m hearing this all second-hand from family, since his violent temper is out of control around me and I refuse to have any communication with him. He’s just kind of mentally flipped out the last 3 years.

Neither my husband, my best friend, my brother, or myself ever discussed the jabs with each other. We all have such verrry different personalities, but we each decided independently that there was no way we would get them. (For that, of course, I am immensely grateful.)

We have a friend, a lady at our church, 91 y/o I think, who has multiple health issues but lives by herself in a senior community, where there is a huge social life for residents that she was very active in. Early on, it was announced that in order to continue participating in activities there, residents would have to show proof of the Covid vaxx. So our friend told us all this when she was scheduled to get jabbed the very next day. She is a great woman of faith and prayer, so we simply advised her to pray about it. Next day she called us up and said she had prayed about it, and then cancelled her appointment. That was all it took. She never got jabbed.
