Martha Stewart has made history as Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s oldest cover model, an achievement the 81 year old described as “kind of historic”.
The businesswoman has been chosen as one of four cover models to be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s annual Swimsuit Issue, joining Megan Fox, Kim Petras, and Brooks Nader.
Speaking to SI about her cover model status, Stewart said she doesn’t often think about age, but that she was impressed by her feat.
“When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, ‘Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,’” Stewart said. “And I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic.”
As for why she decided to participate in the shoot, the cookbook author said she wanted to prove that age doesn’t matter when it comes to things such as “friendship or in terms of success”. Rather, Stewart said what’s important is “what people do, how people think, how people act”.
“Age is not the determining factor in terms of friendship or in terms of success, but what people do, how people think, how people act, that’s what’s important and not your age,” she explained.

Good body, average face and hair length.
Just stop it with the participation trophies. What’s next, a 400 pound ugly woman in a string bikini?
I think she looks good for her age. She was a professional fashion model at one time.
You must have missed the last couple of years where Ashley Graham has been plastered all over the place. She might not be 400, but she ain't far from it.
You've got to take your victories where you can get them. At least Martha's female and not morbidly obese, that's a marked change from SI's last few years.
As the Brits might say “They’ve lost the Plot!”
I thought the S/A Cover Model issue was primarily to make the Reader ‘feel good’, not the model.
Stunning!
Snoop dog bought all the copies up
“Now, people are always asking me, ‘What do you want people to say about you a hundred years from now?’ I always say I want them to say, ‘Dang, don’t she still look good for her age?’” - Dolly Parton
Had to look to see if the was the Babylon Bee.
It is not. Guessing they won’t sell too many issues at the news stand. Subscribers get what they deserve.
Honestly, under the current climate, you could argue that it’s actually a gutsy move on SI’s part to feature a REAL woman. The way things are, it would not be shocking to see Dylan Mulvaney on the cover. At first I was thinking, “This is going to hurt their ESG Score”. But then, I realized that by featuring an 81-year-old woman, they are getting ESG points for “combatting ageism”. What a world we live in today. ugh
I WILL NOT GO LOOK!!!!
It’s not bad, actually............................................for 81.................
One of the many advantages of owning multiple acres of property is that there’s no end of work to do ... tends to keep the excess pounds off.
Yes. Typo on a phone screen.
The businesswoman has been chosen as one of four cover models to be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s annual Swimsuit Issue, joining Megan Fox, *Kim Petras*, and Brooks Nader.
Not the swimmer, the Unholy dudette duet with Sam Smith...
I’m not sure there’s enough photoshop in the world for me to do that, but good for her I guess?
Is this some kind of fetish or are they that desparate? (Or grossed out from drinking Bud Light).
I remember the brilliant idea of inviting Snoop Dog on her cooking show. He was “dressed to the nines” in an Oriental style that must have cost thousands of dollars, and he looked immaculate. He soon became a regular, and he and Martha hung out a lot. Of course, he dressed down after that to not outshine her.
Dying magazines do a lot of things to attract attention.
None of the gimmicks works, but they do create publicity for the magazine.
