A jury found that a McDonald's in Florida and its franchise owner are liable after a hot Chicken McNugget led to second-degree burns on a girl after it fell from a Happy Meal and landed on her leg.
A split jury determined last Thursday that the franchise owner of the McDonald's in Tamarac was negligent and that McDonald's USA failed to warn customers about the heat risk of its food, according to the Sun Sentinel.
McDonald's USA was not found to be negligent, and the jury dismissed the argument that the Chicken McNuggets were defective.
Holmes said her daughter began to scream as she was driving and did not realize what was happening until she pulled over and saw the girl's burned thigh, according to the outlet.
The mother took photos of the injury and also recorded the screams of her daughter, who is reportedly autistic. The girl's nugget-induced screams were played in court.

Dumb parent. Why would you give your 4-year-old hot food to hold onto while you drive? Jeezus.
Truth!
Well at least she was thinking ahead...whip out that phone and document it instead of helping her child...
I hate that the same thought crossed my mind, but people can be cruel.
How much is the payout going to be? It wasn’t stated in the article.
The mother took time to record it ,insane
How many times did the mom have to burn her autistic child with hot food in order to get just the right kind of bloodcurdling screams to impress that jury?
It was a big mistake letting this go to jury vs a judge’s decision.
Not only that, but the risk of choking.
She’s looking for a payday
Parental neglect of a autistic child.
This is the hot coffee lawsuit all over again. Can’t fix stupid.
I agree, mom is the problem. I hate to say it, but I still wonder why we have so many autistic kids in the US. Do you remember kids like that in your classes when you were growing up? I sure don’t. Perhaps it’s being overdiagnosed as certain other trends are.
I’ve only seen one autistic young man, and it must be a real burden for the mom to care for him and to deal with his unusual habits.
And now the rest of us will have to enjoy cold chicken nuggets.
Did the article actually show the video? I have ad blockers and it won’t play video
I want to see the video. Was it time stamped to be able to have an expert be able to determine if it was even possible for the nugget to have been 200 degrees? Sounds like BS since it would never be that hot by the time it gets put in the cardboard container and then several minutes before it gets put in the bag. I’m guessing the most it ever was was 130 degrees and that’s not enough to cause those kind of burns
Every time I’ve ordered nuggets, they were cold.
Was the ghetto lottery. Here are the pics https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Philana+Holmes&form=HDRSC3&first=1
