San Francisco supervisor announces legislation to limit use of guns by security guards

We keep hearing about businesses closing shop in San Francisco. Whole Foods lasted one year before it decided that the crime problem was too much. So how about taking guns away from security guards, leaving them defenseless against armed criminals? The end game is probably to replace all security guards with social workers anyway.

Dean Preston, a democratic socialist, is behind the legislation:

"Today, I’m announcing legislation to limit use of guns by security guards. We must amend local law to prohibit guards from drawing weapons just to protect property. Human life is more important than property."

I use to love going to SF.

I loved SF, NYC and New Orleans, wonderful food. Still go to NO occasionally, not the others.

It’s an integral part of their plans.
Destroy the concept of private property. As all human rights are fundamentally private property rights. Your life, your thoughts, your beliefs, your speech, And so on are your personal, private property.

Yup. It is an integral part of their plans.

British bobbies—
Historical note: The decision not to arm British police officers was made when Sir Robert Peel, the then home secretary, founded the Metropolitan Police in 1829.

Roger Miller’s hit song (1965)
England Swings—

England swings like a pendulum do
Bobbies on bicycles, two by two
Westminster Abbey, the tower of Big Ben
The rosy-red cheeks of the little children.

Just reason with the out of control thugs and maybe they’ll shoot you last. That’s at least something.

Idiot. If human life is more important than property, then don't leave people defenseless against an armed thug hell bent on killing as many people as possible.

Gun free zones just become the new killing fields.

Property IS life - because one had to expend life energy to acquire it.

The “supervisor” needs to do six months as a security guard.

In other words, criminals now have full permission to steal and to kill security guards.

Typical democrat response. Instead of attacking the problem at its root, they go after the honest, non-violent people.

“Human life is more important than property.”

Ayn Rand used to write a lot about this.

Property is the result of human labor and effort—a part of human life.

Property is human life—without it everyone is a slave to whoever steals it.

If it were up to me, looters would be shot on sight. Same as horse thieves in the old west. Western justice was effective.

But I bet they aren’t going to put limits on THEIR security guards.

Will this apply to private and publicly funded people doing personal security? My guess is it doesn’t. So all the pretty perfect people with private security (including politicians) still get their armed guards. What about armored cars picking up cash from the state sponsored drug stores (medical marijuana)?
