A Louisiana man allegedly shot a 14-year-old girl in the back of the head as she played hide-and-seek with a group of friends on his property — where he told police he opened fire after seeing “shadows.”
David Doyle, 58, has been charged with aggravated battery, four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, and the illegal discharge of a firearm, police said.
The incident occurred Sunday morning in Starks, a small town near the border with Texas, where police received reports of a shooting.
Detectives determined that “several juveniles were playing hide and seek in the area and were hiding on the neighbor’s property,” the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

I’m sorry my FRiend, but I find it hard to believe that teenagers play hide and seek, and particularly so that anyone of any age would be playing a child’s game in the middle of the night.
Nevertheless, I praise God that he has granted you the joy of great-grandchildren and the chance to spend joyful time with them. My grandchildren are very young and most likely will not have families during my lifetime.

Starks man accused of shooting 14-year-old girl in back of head as she was playing hide-and-seek
It was 1:00 AM.
Thanks Timmy.
She’s not dead. In fact she’s going to be okay.
Great thanks!
Thx. That’s what I was afraid of.
Thanks, Gitmo. I thought that was the case. I don’t know what the man saw but kids should not be playing “hide and seek” at 1 AM in any event. Bad decisions were made by all, including the parents of the kids.
And probably quite, quite wealthy.
years ago I had to tell my nieces who was fifteen and seventeen that they and ther friends were setting up a bad situation when they they would play a version of the game tag where they were jumping fences and hiding in garages of the neighborhood. told them that they could accidently be shot or if anything was stolen or vandalized that they could get the blame. mom and dad agreed with me and immediately ended their 2 daughter’s participation in this game.
So, not well regulated....
You’d have liked my dams.
Just so.
Doubt it.
When we get gully-washers, dams set up washouts of the banks.
